Heidi Klum brought high fashion and family pride to the Cannes Film Festival this week, stepping onto the red carpet with her son, Henry Samuel, by her side. The stylish mother-son duo coordinated in dramatic black looks for the amfAR Gala, turning heads as Henry continued his growing streak of glamorous appearances alongside the longtime “America’s Got Talent” judge.
Mother-Son Duo at Cannes Film Festival
While Heidi was already making headlines with her Cannes look earlier this week, she is back, and this time, the 52-year-old model was making headlines with matching looks with her model son.
For the coordinated look, Klum wore a plunging black-and-white lace corset dress. The look featured a dramatic ballgown-style black skirt.
Meanwhile, her son, 20, wore a black suit jacket that was emblazoned with metallic leaf detailing. Henry, whom Heidi shares with ex-husband Seal, opted to go shirtless beneath the jacket. He paired the jacket with matching black trousers.
amfAR Gala
The mother-son duo was joined on the red carpet by Klum’s husband, Tom Kaulitz. They were attending the amfAR Gala.
This gala is held to benefit The Foundation for AIDS Research. The gala has raised almost $950 million in support of its programs. They have also awarded over 3,800 grants to research teams worldwide since 1985, according to PEOPLE.
The amfAR Gala featured some special performers this year, which included Robbie Williams, PinkPantheress, and Zara Larsson.
Klum’s Favorite Plus-One
This isn’t the first red carpet event that Heidi and her son have walked together. They have been attending more and more events together recently, and Klum recently told PEOPLE why Samuel happens to be her favorite plus-one.
The former “AGT” judge said, “To be honest, because my husband has been traveling so much and I didn’t want to go alone. So Henry has been like, ‘I’ll come with you, Mom.’ And I’m like, ‘This is fabulous.'”
Klum was excited about the special date, adding, “I mean, what better date can you have than your own son?”
Getting to Experience Things Through His Eyes
Besides making headlines with these red carpet appearances with her son, the “Project Runway” host and judge said it’s been “fun” to experience things through the eyes of “someone who is really young and everything is still so exciting.”
The mom of four — Leni, 21, Henry, 20, Johan, 19, and Lou, 16 — went on to say, “Obviously, things are super exciting for me too, but it’s different with a 20-year-old when they see things and do things for the first time, like a big red carpet… So he’s always super appreciative that I take him.”
Henry isn’t the only one who’s appreciative, though. It looks like Klum is just as happy to have her son come with her during these events.
She added, “But to be honest, I’m more appreciative that he comes with me, that he’s proud to be on my side. And we have a fun night together. We love people watching, we gossip a little bit. It’s a real fun night with my son.”
