We watched the first-ever Ohana Round on “American Idol” season 24 last night. After witnessing some pretty amazing performances, the “American Idol” judges put the final touches on the Top 20 on “American Idol” 2026. Now, these singers will perform for America’s votes starting next week. Before that takes place, we are taking a look at these hopefuls and doing some power rankings for the top 20 singers on “American Idol” season 24.
1. Kyndal Inskeep
I’ve been impressed with Kyndal on “American Idol” season 24. However, her performance during the Ohana Round blew everyone away. The song she wrote about her mother was so touching, I’m just ready to see more of her performances.
2. Julián Kalel
His story is amazing, and people are going to root for him because of that. However, his original song was so important, but also so catchy, and I could hear it on the radio. I think he’ll go far this season.
3. Braden Rumfelt
To be honest, I wasn’t as impressed with Braden’s performance in Hawaii. I think it was good, but safe. I feel he has the appeal to win over votes and just needs better song choices.
4. Jordan McCullough on ‘American Idol’
Talk about making a statement. That is what Jordan did last night, taking everyone to church during his performance. His vocals are so good, so watch out for this one.
5. Jesse Findling
The backstory wins us over. He has a stutter, but then sings flawlessly. Jesse is definitely going to win over voters with all of that, so he should make it far.
6. Genevieve Heyward
Genevieve kind of flew under the radar for me. However, her performance in Hawaii blew me away, and I am intrigued to hear more from her.
7. Brooks Rosser
I’ll be honest, I was a little disappointed with Brooks’ performance during the Ohana Round. I have loved this kid going into Hawaii, but this one was lacking for me. Maybe it was nerves, but I have higher hopes for him moving forward.
8. Rae Boyd
On the flip side of that. I had Rae on no lists. Yes, she has had some good performances and has a good voice, but nothing stood out to me. Then she performed in Hawaii, and this was beyond amazing.
9. Hannah Harper
Hannah has that country appeal that wins over votes. I also think she sings so effortlessly. With the right song choices, she could be one of the top acts this season.
10. Philmon Lee
He definitely has that Teddy Swims or Chris Stapleton vibe going on. Such a quiet person, but then can kill a song. I hope he continues to shine.
11. Keyla Richardson
I have been on the fence with Keyla. She has gotten a lot of hype from the auditions and Hollywood Week, but her vocals never stood out to me. It was more about her son. However, this latest vocal was outstanding. She reminded me of Fantasia with this performance.
12. Chris Tungseth on ‘American Idol’ Season 24
We only got a short snippet of Chris’ performance from last night. To be honest, he has slipped a little each week since his audition. However, the way he got emotional last night watching other people perform won me over. Then, he was the first one there to hug Sheldon when he came off the stage. That scores Chris major points for me.
13. Kutter Bradley
I give him props for the overalls in Hawaii. He’s a good-looking fella, so he’ll gain a lot of votes that way.
14. Makiyah Mustiful
Another one that flew under the radar for me until last night. Jordan took us to church to start the night, and Makiyah finished the night off at church. This was so powerful, and it showed us all how good she can sing.
15. Lucas Leon
I’m going to put Lucas and the next guy, Jake, in the same category. They are good-looking guys, have good voices, and play the guitar. The girls will love both of them, but I need some type of performance that will shock everyone and move them up the ladder.
16. Jake Thistle on ‘American Idol’ 2026
See above.
17. Ruby Rae
I think she has a great voice. Maybe it’s the fact they haven’t shown much of her on “American Idol” season 24, but nothing stands out to wow me, yet.
18. Daniel Stallworth
He hasn’t had much airtime this season and only got a snippet of his performance last night. Good voice, but needs more.
19. Madison Moon
She does have that strong rocker-edge to her voice. I just need to hear more of it.
20. Abayomi
Abayomi is young. I feel she needs more time and will get better.
