Before building the Magnolia empire, former HGTV stars Chip and Joanna Gaines were just ordinary kids with no idea of how successful they’d become. When Joanna posted a series of throwback photos of her and Chip, fans gushed over how adorable they looked.

On a photo of a very young Chip standing with outstretched arms on a snow covered path, she noted, “This is who’s buying the next fixer upper as a surprise … and seeing the potential.”
