Half of the Top 20 on “American Idol” season 24 performed last night on ABC. This was the first chance for America to vote for its favorite artists. We got to see 10 of the artists in the Top 20 on “American Idol” season 24 take the stage last night, but who had the best performances of the night on “American Idol” last night? Brooks
For his performance, he sang “Dancing On My Own” by Robyn. First of all, an amazing song choice for his voice. So, so good. When he hit that first big note, chills! His Ohana Round performance was just meh to me, but this one brought it back for me. And his package video before the performance, how could you not be rooting for this kid?
For the judges, Keke said he has the most magical voice she’s ever heard. Lionel said he is so glad we know you. Carrie said she is so excited for him. We are at Day 1 of his journey, and it’s going to be incredible. Luke said voices like his don’t come around much.
Braden Rumfelt
His girlfriend suggested he sing this song, and it may have been the best advice. For this performance, he sang “Love On The Brain” by Rihanna. This was such a great performance. This is a popular song, but he put his own twist on it and it was fun hearing a guy sing it. He has this sound to his voice that just works with the lyrics.
For the judges, Carrie said he has an incredible voice. Luke said we just gotta get you to build on it, and get you some swagger. You have this instrument and use it to your benefit and work the room. Lionel said that was so soulful, it scared me to death.
Genevieve Heyward
For her performance, she sang “Pink Pony Club” by Chappell Roan. Genevieve just has this infectious personality that draws you in. She seems fun and someone you want to hang out with. Then she sings and blows you away with her vocals. This was a great performance, and I am a fan.
For the judges, Lionel said it was amazing and loves what you did. Carrie said she loved that you took this giant pop anthem and toughened it up a little bit. Luke said keep bringing the energy like that.
