Proud mom Jennifer Lopez opened up about the challenges her twins, Max and Emme (now known as Oskar), overcame ahead of their high school graduation.
The former “American Idol” judge, 56, shared that both of her 18-year-old kids applied to multiple universities and were accepted to all of them. Lopez did not specify which schools they chose, but revealed that both also received scholarships.
“I am so proud that they set goals for themselves,” Lopez said in an interview with Extra. “They all got into all five colleges that they applied to. They both got a scholarship to each, you know, one scholarship to each. Each one got a scholarship to a school. And I just felt like they work so hard.”
Jennifer Lopez Talks About Max & Oskar’s ADHD Journey
Lopez went on to reveal that both her kids, Max and Oskar, were diagnosed with attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD). But that doesn’t stop the twins from thriving.
“I watched how hard they worked, from the time they were like… when school gets serious in the fifth grade, and they just worked hard,” the “Office Romance” star gushed about her kids.
Lopez continued, “They have ADHD, and so they need to learn differently, and there were struggles at times, and I’m just so proud of them because they did what they said they were going to do.”
GettyThe “On the Floor” singer added that Max and Oskar, whom she shares with ex-husband, Marc Anthony, have always been “loving, good-hearted people.”
“And they always said that. I always say to them, ‘What do I say?’ And they say, ‘Doesn’t matter if we get good grades so long as we’re good people,'” Lopez added. “And I was like, ‘That’s right.’ And they still sometimes will quote that back to me. So I’m very proud of both of them.”
Max & Oskar Are Moving Out of Jennifer Lopez’s Mansion
Earlier this month, Lopez revealed on “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” that Max and Oskar are graduating from high school and preparing to move out of her multimillion-dollar mansion.
“Don’t talk about it, I’ll start crying,” Lopez told Kimmel, adding that she’s been “crying for two months” and will definitely cry some more at their graduation ceremony.
Lopez also revealed that her twins are going to different colleges and that she’s very supportive of it.
“I mean, it’s fine,” Lopez said. “I want them to be happy. Go where they want to go, do what they want to do.”
GettyLopez also told Kimmel that she’s going to be hands-on in helping her kids move into their own dorm rooms.
“We’re going to pack up their rooms here, and they’re going to take all the things that they want to take to their dorm,” Lopez continued. “Then they’re going to realize that their dorms are too small and that they’re going to miss home, I hope, and want to come back real soon. That’s my point.”
Last month, one of the twins, Oskar, graduated from high school and celebrated with the family, including Ben Affleck and Jennifer Garner’s son, Samuel Affleck.
