‘Jujutsu Kaisen’ Season 3 Cour 2: Everything We Know So Far About the Anime’s Return

It’s tough to say goodbye, but “Jujutsu Kaisen” fans don’t have any other choice. After fans watch season 3 episode 12’s special extended episode (which premieres at 11:30 a.m. Central on Crunchyroll), the anime will go on hiatus for the time being.

Here’s what we know so far about season 3 part 2.

JJK Likely Won’t Return Until 2027

Although neither Crunchyroll nor MAPPA have made an official announcement about cour 2, all signs are pointing to it not returning until January 2027 at the earliest. This is a big contrast to what happened with the two cours during season 2.

Anime fans have come up with this theory because the current broadcast schedule in Japan doesn’t have any anime slots open for the remainder of 2026, making January 2027 the likely earliest opportunity for cour 2 to begin airing. And every episode airs on TV in Japan before it drops on Crunchyroll.

If this is what happens, it would be very different from how MAPPA handled the second season of “Jujutsu Kaisen.” Back then, the first cour — called Hidden Inventory — aired from July 6, 2023 to August 3, 2023. This was a total of six episodes in cour 1. Then cour 2 — the Shibuya Incident — aired from August 31, 2023 to December 28, 2023 (for a total of 23 episodes in season 2.)

This meant there was only a very short hiatus from August 3 to August 31 before cour 2 launched in season 2.

We also know that for season 3, cour 2 will be 12 episodes long, just like cour 1. And there have been some rumors that the second cour might even reach all the way into a highly anticipated fight (but no spoilers, in case you don’t want to know!) Other fans, however, think that MAPPA wouldn’t want to miss out on turning that epic fight into a movie that airs in theaters. Which would you prefer?

In celebration of the finale, Sendai Station in Japan was taken over! This is because the final episode centers around Yuta’s fight in the Sendai Colony for The Culling Game.

You can see some photos from the takeover in this X post.

The Dub’s Finale Will Air in 2 Weeks

If you’re watching Jujutsu Kaisen’s English dub in addition to the English sub, then the season isn’t over for you yet!

According to Crunchyroll’s official calendar, the English dub is two weeks behind the English sub. This means that the finale for English dub watchers will air on Thursday, April 9. Crunchyroll notes that the dubs premiere at the same time as the subs. So season 3 episode 12’s dub will air on April 9 at 9:30 a.m. Pacific/10:30 a.m. Mountain/11:30 a.m. Central/12:30 a.m. Eastern.
