“Below Deck Med” alum Mailia White welcomed a daughter earlier this month with her boyfriend, Robert Kirby, after keeping her pregnancy out of the public eye. Now she’s opening up about why she chose to stay private and gave a glimpse of what pregnancy was like for her in a brutally honest message.

On Instagram, White shared a carousel of private photos and videos from when she was pregnant with her baby girl. The images featured White posing for maternity pictures, working as a yachtie, enjoying some vacation time, celebrating her growing baby bump, and working out.
Three videos are also part of the social media share, revealing some of the various workouts White did while pregnant. One featured her lifting weights. Another showed the Bravo star walking on her hands, and a third showed White in a yoga headstand pose.
In her caption, White spoke her truth, admitting that she kept her pregnancy quiet because she didn’t want the “fear-mongering advice” that pregnant women always get from people who think they are experts.
“I worked out at the gym until the day before I gave birth, sailed the seas & worked on deck until 6 months in, and travelled (a lot) until nesting mode kicked in. I ate the occasional deli sandwich & enjoyed the rare glass of red wine. I chose to listen to my doctors, ask for advice only from trusted friends and most importantly listened to my own body,” White shared in part of her caption.
The former reality TV star went on to remind women that every pregnancy is unique, then issued a touching message.
“To all the women before me, well done, and to those after, you’re doing amazing! I hope me sharing this can help a new mom that is terrified to do anything but breathe while pregnant! 💕🤰 #pregnancy #FTM expectingmom,” she expressed.
Malia Whit and Robert Kirby’s Relationship Timeline
The “Below Deck Med” alum had some very public relationships during her three seasons on the hit Bravo show. However, all of that changed when she began dating the very private Kirby and opted only to share glimpses of the romance.
White slyly hard-launched the romance on Instagram in April 2024 with a carousel of photos from their yachting season in the Caribbean. Yes, Kirby is in the yachting industry too.
In fact, White was set up with him by her good friend, Katie Flood, who she met filming Season 6 of “Below Deck Med.”
At the time they met, Kirby and White were working on different yachts, so they decided it would be a good idea to go on a trip and see how they liked being around each other all the time. It turns out the rest is history.
“We met in Nashville, ’cause neither of us had been to Nashville at that point. And we just had a 10-day trip. And we were like, ‘yeah, I think this is it,'” she told The Daily Dish.
