Brittany Cartwright Reveals the Real Reason She Left ‘Special Forces’

Brittany Cartwright is opening up about her short-lived experience on “Special Forces: World’s Toughest Test.” “The Valley” star, who is navigating life as a single mom after her split from Jax Taylor, admitted that while the grueling military-style challenges were tough, the hardest part of the competition had nothing to do with physical endurance.

Brittany Cartwright Explains Her Exit From ‘Special Forces’

During an interview with Us Weekly, Cartwright revealed that leaving her 4-year-old son, Cruz Michael Cauchi, for the two-week filming schedule in Morocco was the real breaking point.

“The food, the heat, all that stuff was super hard,” she said. “But for me, it was [that] I had never left my son that long… You’re by yourself there. So that was really difficult for me, because I’ve never ever been gone from Cruz more than two or three days on a work trip. And if it’s [longer], he travels with me.”

She added, “The best thing ever was coming back home, and with Cruz’s autism, I just really wanted to make sure he knew that I was coming back and that I was going to be there. I FaceTimed him any chance that I got. That was, like, super important for me. I brought a photo of him with me and stuff like that. But he was happy to see me when I got back. He’s my little baby, even though he’s so big and he’s 4.”

‘The Valley’ Star Reflects On Her New Chapter

The Kentucky native, 35, was part of the season 4 cast that included Teresa Giudice, her daughter Gia Giudice, and Eva Marcille. But Cartwright bowed out during the September 25 premiere, just one day into the challenges.

“I just wanted to show [Cruz], like, even if things are scary, you can still try,” Cartwright explained. “It was just something that I thought I should try to see what I could do and really push myself with everything I’ve been through, all the ups and downs in my life lately. I just really wanted to see what it would be like.”

Though her journey on “Special Forces” ended quickly, Cartwright said she doesn’t regret taking the leap. Between coparenting with Taylor and juggling her career, she is focused on showing her son resilience.
