Brittany Cartwright is embracing change — and sharing the journey with fans. The “The Valley” star surprised followers over the weekend when she revealed she had undergone a major surgical procedure, marking a personal milestone she’s wanted for years. While she’s keeping the exact details under wraps for now, Cartwright gave a glimpse into her recovery process and teased that more information is on the way.
Brittany Cartwright Reveals Surgery Recovery on Instagram
Cartwright, 36, took to Instagram on Sunday, October 5, to share a mirror selfie of her midsection wrapped in compression bandages, with two surgical drains filled with red liquid attached.
“When they said ‘remove what no longer serves you,’ I took it literally 💅,” she captioned the candid photo.
In the comments section, Cartwright elaborated slightly on the decision, writing, “In all seriousness, y’all know I always keep it real — and sooo…I did a thing. Something I’ve wanted to do for years and I finally took the step for me. I couldn’t be happier. Still recovering, but feeling stronger (and lighter) every day. Can’t wait to share more with you soon!”
Fans quickly began speculating about the procedure after noticing what appeared to be a compression bra in the background.
“I think she did a tummy tuck but it does look like she may have taken her implants out also,” one follower commented, referencing the breast augmentation Cartwright underwent in season 4 of “Vanderpump Rules.” The procedure was financed by her estranged husband and former “The Valley” costar Jax Taylor, whom she filed to divorce in August 2024.
Costar Kristen Doute also chimed in with a supportive message. “My gorgeous girl! Dropping that dead weight and went for the upgrade!! @drpay @drjlayke,” Doute, 42, wrote, tagging two Beverly Hills plastic surgeons.

Beyond the surgery reveal, Cartwright offered a glimpse into her recovery process through her Instagram Stories.
“Cruzy picked me a flower from the garden to keep by my bed as I recover,” Cartwright wrote. “He comes in throughout the day to gently give me hugs and kisses.” Cartwright shares Cruz with Taylor, 46.
She reposted her recovery photo on Stories with three heart-filled emojis, signaling that she’s in good spirits as she heals.
Earlier this year, Cartwright addressed the topic of cosmetic surgery on the March 21 episode of her podcast “When Reality Bites.” She explained that she was open to future breast surgery, revealing, “I get comments and stuff about my breasts all the time and it’s so annoying because I had my boobs done, gosh, it’s probably about 10 years. It’ll be time to get them redone again soon anyway.”
She continued, “After I had my son and as I said earlier, my weight, like, fluctuates so bad. So my boobs get really big or they’ll shrink, they’re one of the first places that I gain weight in. And a lot of people will accuse me of having my breasts done again. It’s definitely something I’m looking into for the future. I definitely would go smaller.”
