Andy Cohen Reveals The Wild Original Title Planned for ‘Vanderpump Rules’

Bravo’s “Vanderpump Rules” is set to return on Dec. 2 with a cast of fresh faces working for Lisa Vanderpump at her West Hollywood establishment, SUR restaurant.

However, before viewers form their opinions on the brand-new cast of servers, bartenders, and managers, Andy Cohen celebrated the show’s legacy with the “Raise Your Glass to 11 Seasons” special, looking back at the show’s most legendary moments and sharing never-before-seen footage. In fact, Cohen shocked fans when he revealed that the show was supposed to be named something completely different.

Andy Cohen was surely sipping on pumptinis as he hosted the “Raise Your Glass to 11 Seasons” special, celebrating the iconic eleven seasons of “Vanderpump Rules.” But what was most shocking was learning that VPR was going to be titled something completely different, and a little risque, to say the least.

“Hey, here’s a production secret fans don’t know,” he began (via Bravo). “The title ‘Vanderpump Rules’ wasn’t chosen until after filming for Season 1 had wrapped.”

“An alternate title that the crew loved was ‘Just The Tip,'” Andy revealed. “Can you imagine? This cast has never stopped at “just the tip” of anything,” he joked.

Thankfully, Lisa Vanderpump and production thought differently after wrapping its first season. Deciding to name it after the legendary “Real Housewives of Beverly Hills” star seems much more fitting. After all, she’s the one calling the shots at SUR.

A rebooted season 12 of “Vanderpump Rules” means that fans will once again meet a fresh cast that actually works at Lisa Vanderpump’s SUR, where employees’ drama will most likely spill from the bar to SUR’s famous back alley.

Speaking to People, Vanderpump shared what fans can expect in the new rebooted season, sharing that “the world has changed” and viewers should get used to these new cast members.

“The continuation is the essence of working in the restaurant business, and I’m still here and that’s obviously the crux of the matter, but the most important thing, always in a show like this, is the relationships and the people and the cohesion, and that’s very different,” Vanderpump said.

“They’re very different people. The world has changed. The world has moved on. I think Gen Z are incredibly different to how young people were 12 years ago,” she added.

Vanderpump noted that she is staying clear of doing “the same show again,” promising new drama with a cast that young people can relate to.

“We’ve done that. We’ve moved on. The problems they had in the last cast at the end of ‘Vanderpump Rules,’ they were much bigger, much more serious. Not an emotional level, but we would talk about starting businesses and marriages and things like that. Whereas this, these are naughty, young, funny people living their best life. And so it’s kind of back to grassroots,” she shared.
