Lacey Chabert Gives Update on Her Hallmark ‘Easter Southern Musical’ That May Costar Andrew Walker

There’s no doubt that Lacey Chabert and Andrew Walker are two of the most popular and prolific stars to appear in Hallmark movies. That’s why fans love to find out any tidbits of news about their projects. For instance, while Chabert’s “Paris Is Always a Good Idea” has just wrapped up, Walker recently made a major announcement about the future of his “Curious Caterer Mysteries.”

On top of that, Chabert has revealed the status of her musical Easter story set in the South that could star herself as well as Walker.

Lacey First Brought Up the Idea Last Month

In case you missed it, back at the end of July, Chabert first mentioned her interest in this particularly intriguing project during an interview with PauseRewind alongside her “Paris is Always a Good Idea” co-star Scott Michael Foster. While answering various questions, the actress was asked, “Is there a movie, a genre, that Hallmark hasn’t done yet that you want to see?”

“I think a musical would be really fun,” said in response… but she didn’t stop there. She then added that she would like to do a movie that is set in a part of the country that happens to be where she originally hails from, which would be the South — Mississippi, to be exact. That’s why she noted, “I’m really passionate about finding a great story set in the South.”

While we’re sure that fans would love to see a Hallmark musical that takes place in the South, Chabert still wasn’t done expanding on this possible movie.

When Foster asked Chabert if there is a holiday that Hallmark hasn’t done, she pointed out that they aren’t exactly known for Easter movies. This prompted Foster to flesh out the full idea, saying, “Okay, an Easter musical set in the South.”

Now, Chabert has addressed what happened after the idea was put out into the world and piqued the interest of her fans.

Lacey Has Been Getting Questions About Her Exciting Idea

When Chabert showed up for the recent finale premiere event of “Paris is Always a Good Idea,” PauseRewind’s Elizabeth Stanton again caught up with the star. This time around, the actress offered an update on the idea that she had put together during the previous interview and revealed that it sparked quite a bit of interest.

“I got asked that question so many times afterwards, ‘So do you really wanna do an Easter Southern musical?'” she admitted. She then added, “I’m like, ‘That was kind of a joke, but sure.'”

That caused Stanton to ask Chabert, “Has there been any further thought now that you know so many people are into the idea?”

“I can’t tell you. Mum’s the word,” Chabert said cryptically and jokingly. She then said, “No, there hasn’t been. When it happens, you’ll be the first to hear about it. How about that?”

Andrew Walker Is Also Interested in a Hallmark Musical

While a Hallmark musical starring Chabert would surely be exciting enough, what makes this potential project even more intriguing is that Walker has also expressed an interest in being part of one if it ever happens.

He made that clear when he recently shared a video on Instagram that showed him answering 25 questions to help mark Hallmark Channel’s 25th birthday.

When asked during the Q&A if he thinks there will ever be a musical made by the channel, Walker replied, “I hope so… And I hope I’m the one that gets to do it.”
