Andrew Walker & Lacey Chabert Want to Star in a Kind of Movie Hallmark Isn’t Known For

Andrew Walker has tackled a wide range of movies during his time as a Hallmark star. That includes stories that involve royalty, a reality TV competition and a message in a bottle, as well as archeology, beekeeping and bird watching, not to mention the Kentucky Derby, just to name a few.

However, there’s one kind of movie that Walker hasn’t tackled for the channel and the same goes for fellow Hallmark icon, Lacey Chabert. In fact, it’s a kind of project that Hallmark doesn’t really do, which is why fans might be surprised and thrilled to find out that both Walker and Chabert would love to be involved if this particular production ever happens.

Walker’s fans were delighted when he recently took to Instagram to share a video that showed him answering 25 questions in honor of Hallmark Channel’s 25th birthday. The actor’s wife, Cassandra Troy, posed each query on behalf of those who had submitted them, including the second one, which came from someone with the social media handle TheBobCraigo, saying, “Number two: Do you think there will ever be a musical Hallmark movie?”

“I hope so, Bob,” Walker said in response. He then added something that Hallmark movie viewers will surely be happy to hear, saying, “And I hope I’m the one that gets to do it.”

While that’s wonderful news in itself, fans will also be thrilled to know that if Hallmark ever needs to cast someone to appear alongside Walker in a musical movie, then they don’t have to look any further than his “My Secret Valentine” (2018) and “She’s Making a List” (2025) costar, Chabert.

During an interview with PauseRewind’s Elizabeth Stanton that Chabert did last month, she was asked about what kind of Hallmark movie she would still like to. Along with mentioning a holiday that the channel hasn’t really made a major focus of its stories in the past and explaining that she’d love to be a part of a romance that’s set in the South (where she happens to be from), she also noted, “I think a musical would be really fun.”

Hallmark Has Made Must-See Music-Themed Movies

Despite the fact that Hallmark fans are still waiting for a potential musical movie, the channel has made quite a few stories that involve music. If that’s piqued your interest, then you will definitely want to watch “It’s Christmas, Eve” (2018), which features Tyler Hynes as a music teacher who falls for a budget-cutting school superintendent named Eve, who is played by real-life country music star LeAnn Rimes.

That’s not to mention “A Christmas Melody” (2015), which starred Mariah Carey, who also directed the movie, and “A Carol for Two” (2024), featuring Broadway veterans Ginna Claire Mason and Jordan Litz.

On top of that, you can also check out the story of a country music star and a classical concert violinist in “Christmas in My Heart” (2021), a singer-songwriter trying to make their big break in “All I Need for Christmas” (2024), a country music bar in “Texas Two-Step” (2026) and a ’90s boy band in “Absolutely Devoted to You” (2026). We also can’t overlook Tamera Mowry-Housley’s “Haunted Harmony Mysteries,” which see her playing a music teacher who teams up with a ghost to solve murders.
