Drew Barrymore is ready to let go of one of her homes. The star has decided to sell her Westchester mansion, which means a new owner will be able to enjoy the impressive 280-year-old residence that Barrymore herself made well-known thanks to her intense renovations.
The “[a]ctress-turned-talk show host … is parting ways with her historical Westchester retreat after putting the sprawling abode on the market for $4.99 million—just two years after she bought it,” according to Realtor.com.
While she “snapped up the six-bedroom, nine-bathroom property for $4.4 million in 2024, according to property records,” per Realtor.com, “[s]he then spent more than a year pouring even more money into an extensive renovation of the abode…”

When Barrymore picked up the home, she thought that it would simply need “a cosmetic overhaul,” but she ended up embarking on “a drastic transformation” of the main level to open up the space and bring in more light. Beyond that, she gutted the dwelling and “replac[ing] a majority of the key systems,” such as the heating, the plumbing, and the air conditioning, Realtor.com explains.
Although it took quite a bit of effort, “Barrymore came through the renovation relatively unscathed, transforming the property into a true sanctuary that she believed would serve as her family’s escape from the city, where she shoots her popular talk show,” per Realtor.com. However, that didn’t happen. Instead, because the renovations took so long, she feels like her family no longer has “a real need for the countryside sanctuary,” which is why she’s now put it up for sale.

“Renovated to the highest standard, 19 Winfield is a rare legacy estate where every room has been thoughtfully reimagined for the perfect moment,” according to the listing. “The ultimate in privacy, set behind a private gate on nearly 12 lush acres, this is one of the largest lots in Southern Westchester.”
Built in 1747, the main house “blends” its older “character” with “modern updates designed for today’s most discerning buyer,” the listing notes. “Fall in love with the thoughtfully redesigned kitchen. Relax in the breathtaking great room which features dramatic 30-foot ceilings, walls that are wrapped in windows and floor-to-ceiling doors throughout all which provide a seamless indoor-outdoor flow while filling the room with natural light.”
The listing also notes that “[t]he floor plan offers exceptional flexibility as the open spaces flow between the kitchen, dining room, sitting, room, sunlit conservatory, cozy family room, expansive living room, and additional gracious entertaining spaces, all which are enhanced by the multiple fireplaces, creating a sense of warmth, comfort and connection throughout.”
While the listing describes the primary suite as “a luxurious hideaway” thanks to the “sitting room, walk-in closet, two bathrooms, Juliet Balcony and a large picture window,” there are also three additional bedrooms, two bathrooms and a usable attic.
Along with the main house, the property also boasts both a pool house and a guest cottage.
“The pool house is a warm, sun-drenched intimate space which offers a tranquil spa-like escape with a living room, bedroom, full bath with a timeless soaking tub overlooking the grounds, laundry, and full kitchen,” the listing notes. As for the guest cottage, it “is the perfect private retreat with a loft, living room, full bath, and kitchen.”
That’s not to mention the heated pool, wildflower gardens and wood areas on the private property.
