Country singer Zach Bryan shocked fans when he introduced his pianist as none other than San Francisco 49ers superstar Christian McCaffrey during his performance ahead of Super Bowl 60.
Zach Bryan Brought Out a Very Special Guest
Zach Bryan took to the stage at Chase Center in San Francisco, California, on Friday, February 6, in front of a packed crowd. The “Something in the Orange” artist shocked the sold-out crowd by announcing a special guest behind the piano.
In footage from the performance, which was shared via social media by fans, Bryan can be heard saying, “To the right of me is one of my closest friends.”
“A gentleman who came out to play the piano for us on a night that we needed it, one of the greatest running backs of all time…if you guys could give him a warm San Francisco welcome, this is Christian McCaffrey,” he announced before the former Stanford University star began his solo.
Bryan thanked his dear friend via social media following the performance.
“Thank you to my brother [Christian McCaffrey] filling in on keys tonight,” Bryan shared via his Instagram Story after the show. “Thank you to [EA Sports] and [EA Madden] for having us!”
NFL fans were surprised to learn of McCaffrey’s secret talent, with one fan writing, “I’m Christian McCaffrey, I have a beautiful wife, I’m one of the best running backs ever, I can play piano😭😭😭.”
“Top nfl player, married to miss universe, beautiful daughter, loves Jesus, AND can play the piano? ….. no words,” another added.
Zach Bryan Replaced Luke Combs
The “Bad News” artist was a last-minute addition to the Madden Bowl lineup, taking fellow artist Luke Combs spot after he was forced to drop out.
“So sorry to miss y’all at Madden Bowl, but family always comes first. Have a great time,” Combs shared via Instagram on Thursday, February 5.
EA Sports, the company behind the highly anticipated event, announced the lineup change via Instagram that same day.
“Update: Luke has to hold it down at home with a new one on the way,” they shared at the time. “All love for Luke and his family — and we can’t wait to put on an unforgettable #MaddenBowl with @zachlanebryan leading an incredible night of music and football for the fans.”
In addition to Bryan, country stars Teddy Swims, Stephen Wilson Jr., Gavin Adcock and LaRussell performed in the Bay on Friday.
