Several celebrity TV chefs are sharing their support for fellow Food Network stars after a fan-favorite show was canceled.
On October 20, Food Network announced the longtime show “The Kitchen” would be coming to an end after 40 seasons. The show, which has over 500 episodes, will air its final episode on December 13.
“We’re immensely grateful to our hosts, crew, guests, and most of all, our loyal viewers for 10+ incredible years,” Food Network said in a post on Instagram. “Thank you for tuning in, cooking along, and being part of our community.”
The social media post gained over 4,600 comments, with celebrity chefs sending support to their colleagues.
Bobby Flay, Ree Drummond and More Send Their Support to “The Kitchen” Crew
“Thank you to the Kitchen and its fabulous chefs and hosts for holding it down in daytime on @foodnetwork for the last decade,” Bobby Flay, a star of several shows on the network, said in the comments.
“Well done everyone.. an iconic run,” Flay continued.
“Love you all and the amazing show you built together!!!” Ree Drummond, host of “The Pioneer Woman,” added.
Aarti Sequeira, the season six winner of Food Network Star, a judge on Guy’s Grocery Games and host of her own show Aarti Party, shared her support in the Instagram post.
“UGH! I loved this show because it reminded me of why I fell in love with cooking in the first place…” Sequeira said. “Lots of voices and hands working together in a kitchen with equal servings of love and sass!!!”
“Love you guys and well done for an unprecedented run!”
Another Food Network familiar face, Marc Murphy, was spotted in the comments.
“Guys, congrats on an incredible show — one of my favorites to watch and to be part of,” Murphy wrote. “You’re all legends.”
According to his IMDb page, Murphy was in four episodes of “The Kitchen,” making two appearances in 2014, one in 2015 and one in 2019.
He recently joined the show again in April 2025, showing off one of his go-to dishes, roasted cauliflower with za’atar, per a post on his Instagram.
Sunny Anderson Jokes with Fan After “The Kitchen” Cancellation
Getty“The Kitchen,” which first aired on January 4, 2014, is currently co-hosted by several Food Network chefs, including Sunny Anderson, Katie Lee Biegel, Geoffrey Zakarian and Jeff Mauro. Alex Guarnaschelli has appeared as a guest host from time to time.
Since its airing, the show has provided viewers with over 2,000 recipes, according to the Food Network.
Anderson recently spoke with a fan after the show’s cancellation announcement. The co-host shared a screenshot of the interaction on her Instagram story.
“Those Kitchen mugs are collector items now! Can’t wait to see what’s next for you on Food Network,” the fan said in a message to Anderson.
“Happy I ‘stole’ them from set to share,” Anderson quipped.

My mother passed away when I was too young to care about cooking. It was The Kitchen that taught me to cook and have fun.
Each of the hosts are wonderful with their own takes on recipes and have aided me in developing my own style.
I can’t believe the show is being cancelled. Shame Food Network, for taking the same opportunity away from upcoming fans and from the best quality show on your network.
