This week, the Food Network’s “Tournament of Champions,” hosted by Guy Fieri, concluded season 7 with an incredibly exciting finale featuring a very close race. Now, fans are eager for more content and can’t wait to learn more about the show’s future.
In the season finale, Guy seemed to drop a pretty major clue about the beloved competition show’s future. Will the Food Network approve an eighth season?
This article will feature spoilers from the “Tournament of Champions” season 7 finale.
Guy Fieri Hints at “Tournament of Champions” Season 8 After a Tight Race
Food Network fans found this season of “Tournament of Champions” exhilarating for a variety of reasons. For the first time in the show’s history, a male chef took first place. On top of that, the victor and runner-up were neck and neck during the competition, with first place decided by a single point.
So far, “Tournament of Champions” hasn’t received a greenlight for season 8. However, fans think one will definitely come after what Guy Fieri said in the season 7 finale episode.
After a tight competition, Bryan Voltaggio was crowned the winner. But it’s what the host said next that truly captured fans’ attention.
“Chef Kevin Lee: heart, determination, hard work, drive, fight, all of it, packaged into one,” Guy addressed the season runner-up. “What an incredible achievement. I know without a doubt you will be back for season 8. I look forward to seeing you in competitions in the future.”
The Celebrity Chef Has Many Other Projects to Occupy His Time Until Then
It could be quite some time until the next season of “Tournament of Champions” premieres, if the Food Network indeed gives it the greenlight. But until then, Guy Fieri has no shortage of projects.
“Flavortown Food Fight” debuted on the network back in March, giving Guy’s fans plenty of exciting new content and flavors to learn about.
“For the first time in television history, we’re opening the gates of Flavortown and inviting some of America’s most talented chefs to showcase their skills in a never-ending list of off-the-hook restaurants that you’ll only find here,” Guy told PEOPLE ahead of the series premiere. “We’ve been building out this universe for years and I’m stoked to finally invite everybody in!”
New episodes of “Flavortown Food Fight” air Wednesday nights at 9 p.m. on the Food Network.
