Karen Huger Reveals the Only Bravo Star She Was Allowed to Talk to in Prison

Karen Huger is opening up about one of the most difficult chapters of her life, revealing that only one person from the Bravo universe was allowed to stay in contact with her while she served her prison sentence.

In a new interview following her release, “The Real Housewives of Potomac” star shared that longtime Bravo executive Andy Cohen was the only Bravo personality she was permitted to speak with during her incarceration, and she credited his support with helping her through the experience.

Karen Huger Says Andy Cohen Stayed in Her Corner

Speaking to E! News while reflecting on her time behind bars, Huger explained that she intentionally kept her circle small as she focused on getting sober and rebuilding her life.

“Bravo stood by me when I went through a lot,” Huger said. “I often credit the courage that I had from the training I had as a Housewife to make it through and to get sober and to be clean.”

She then revealed that Cohen was the lone Bravo figure she remained in contact with while serving her sentence.

“Andy was one of the few people that I allowed to talk to me inside while I was paying my dues, which I needed to do,” Huger said. “He was so lovely and so supportive. I adore him. I love him. I am so happy to be a part of his team and his family.”

The revelation comes as Huger continues to speak candidly about the lessons she learned during her time away and her recovery journey.

Karen Huger Is Taking Her Bravo Return Slowly

Although Huger has officially returned to “The Real Housewives of Potomac,” she recently revealed she turned down an opportunity to appear on “The Real Housewives Ultimate Girls Trip: Roaring 20th” because she wanted to prioritize her sobriety.

“The offer was made. I thought for my sobriety, ‘Take it slow,’ because I was planning on coming back to [‘The Real Housewives of Potomac’] for Season 11,” she told Us Weekly. “I didn’t want to overdo it, so I’m here to cheer and support. I can’t wait to see it with you guys.”

Huger said Bravo respected her decision to ease back into filming rather than rushing into multiple projects.

“I’m very proud to be a part of this family, and I earned my place to be [in] it,” she said. “The fact that they recognized me and supported my decision to just stay low for a minute and continue to heal was so, so loving and so supportive. I’m so grateful.”

Looking ahead to the new season of “The Real Housewives of Potomac,” Huger said she hopes viewers will see how much she has grown through the experience. She also encouraged others struggling with addiction to seek help, saying recovery is possible and thanking her castmates for supporting her commitment to sobriety.

  1. This egocentric, narcissistic old lady finally got her dose of karma. Her higher-than-mighty ‘do you know who I am’ delusional attitude is laughable. Bankruptcy, ‘Blue Eyes’, DUI’s, those crazy looks, the ‘Grand Dame’ nonsense, and a multiple failed business attempts….yeah-we know who you are. Can you just go away? You and your made up fame are over the top and quite boring.
