Hallmark star Holly Robinson Peete, like many others around the world, was heartbroken to learn of Diane Keaton’s death. The “Hats Off to Love” Hallmark star took to her Instagram page to share a touching tribute to Keaton, and fans loved it.
Holly Robinson Peete Had a Unique Tie to Diane Keaton
On October 11, a few hours after news of Keaton’s death emerged, Robinson Peete posted a handful of photos of Keaton on Instagram, along with a touching message.
“Some people you just can’t imagine not being on this earth. Diane Keaton was one of those people,” Robinson Peete began.
She continued, “Her energy was so palpable and infectious!”
Robinson Peete revealed, “Our kids went to elementary school together, and she showed up to carpool dressed exactly like she does in all these iconic photos — While I was in sweats and a baseball cap, Diane was impeccable … every single day!”
“A legendary actress, spectacular mother and true fashion icon who lived and aged with such grace. Rest in peace — you were so loved,” Robinson Peete added.
Fans Feel They’ve Lost a Loved One
Robinson Peete’s Instagram post received over 2,220 comments and 65,000 “likes” as her followers shared their own memories and heartbreak.
One fan wrote, “I feel like I’ve lost a loved one.”
Another added, “I can’t believe it. Years ago would see her on the beach in Corona Del Mar, always so kind and funny.” Someone replied to that comment, sharing, “I used to see her too–I lived near her mother’s house. It was wonderful seeing her walking her down down at the beach. Diane will be missed.”

Robinson Peete later added another post related to Keaton that featured a speech by Meryl Streep that honored the “Annie Hall” star. Streep gave the speech during the American Film Institute event “AFI Life Achievement Award: A Tribute to Diane Keaton.”
