Holly Robinson Peete is showing up for her husband, Rodney Peete, as his friend, the late “Days of Our Lives” star Patrick Muldoon, is laid to rest nearly one month after his death at the age of 57.
The fan-favorite Hallmark star, beloved by many for her iconic roles like Mayor Michelle in the holiday franchise “Christmas in Evergreen” and Billie Blessings in the “Morning Show Mysteries” franchise, is offering heartfelt support to her husband during this difficult time. After the former NFL player paid tribute to his longtime friend and former teammate on social media, Holly shared an emotional response of her own.
Holly Honors Muldoon, Says He Was a ‘Beautiful Person’
“Tough Day saying goodbye to my friend Pat Muldoon!!! He was my Teammate, My Brother, My Friend🙏🏾 miss you already brotha!!! ✌🏾💔✌🏾💔✌🏾” Rodney wrote in his May 16 Instagram post, paying tribute to his former USC Trojans teammate.
Holly responded to her husband’s post with a touching sentiment in the comments. “Such a beautiful person gone too soon. I’m so sorry, hun. He was an awesome friend and teammate 💔💔💔💔” she wrote.
Though Muldoon was best known for his acting, he was also a star football player as a teenager, playing tight end for USC in the 1980s, according to Us Weekly.
Patrick Muldoon’s sister, Shana Muldoon Zappa, expressed her gratitude to Rodney in the comments, a testament to Rodney and Patrick’s friendship. “This means so much. Thank you being there✌️🙏🏼💫” she wrote.
Many of Rodney’s friends shared their condolences, like actor and comedian Kenan Thompson. “Sending you love and light bro!!! 🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾” he added in the comments.
Holly Has Starred in Several Projects for Hallmark Over the Years
GettyThe couple, who have been married for over 30 years, starred in Hallmark’s first unscripted reality series, “Meet the Peetes,” which gave fans an inside look at their family life and marriage. The synopsis of the series reads, “Follow Holly and Rodney Peete’s hectic lives as they attempt to balance raising four kids, including one with autism, running their HollyRod charity and spending time with Holly’s 81-year-old mother Dolores, who moved in with them after retiring from her career as a talent manager,” per Hallmark Channel.
Along with Holly and Rodney, the show also starred Dolores Robinson, Ryan Elizabeth Peete, Rodney Jackson Peete, Robinson James Peete, and Roman Matthew Peete.
“Meet the Peetes” premiered on the Hallmark Channel on February 18, 2018 and ran for two seasons.
Holly has also starred in a number of other projects for the network. She made her debut on Hallmark Channel in 2015 with the film “Angel of Christmas,” where she played the character of Yvette. Following this, Holly continued to take on other holiday films, such as “A Family Christmas Gift,” “Our Christmas Journey,” and “Holiday Heritage.”
Her most recent Hallmark film, “Hats Off to Love,” premiered on May 3, 2025.
