1. Patrick Muldoon Landed His First Acting Role in 1990

Patrick Muldoon began his acting career in his early 20s. He landed a two-episode stint as Matt on “Who’s the Boss?” in 1990. The following year, Muldoon portrayed Jeffrey Hunter in three episodes of “Saved by the Bell.”


2. Patrick Muldoon Portrayed Austin Reed on ‘Days of Our Lives’

    In 1992, Patrick Muldoon made his way to Salem. He was the first actor to portray Austin Reed, the son of Kate Roberts and Curtis Reed.

    Muldoon stayed in Salem for three years before leaving the role in 1995. Then, after a 16-year hiatus, Muldoon returned, portraying Austin Reed one last time from 2011 to 2012.

    The only other actor to portray Austin Reed has been Austin Peck. Peck played the character from 1995 to 2006, then again from 2017 to 2021.


    3. Patrick Muldoon Starred on “Melrose Place” in the Mid-1990s

    After exiting Salem in 1995, Muldoon made his way over to “Melrose Place.” Patrick Muldoon portrayed Richard Hart from 1995 to 1996.


    4. Patrick Muldoon Was a College Football Player

    Patrick Muldoon was born and raised in California. He graduated from the University of Southern California in 1991. During his college days, Muldoon played tight end for the USC Trojans football program.


    5. Patrick Muldoon Has Multiple Posthumous Projects Set for Release

      Patrick Muldoon sadly passed away on April 19, 2026, at the age of 57, following a heart attack. He remained active in his career and had numerous projects in development at the time of his death.

      Two days before he passed away, Muldoon had taken to Instagram to share about a film he was working on. The actor wrote, “So excited to be a part of this amazing project KOCKROACH, directed by Matt Ross, starring Chris Hemsworth, Taron Edgerton, Zazie Beetz, and Alec Baldwin. Filming now in Australia.”

      “Kockroach” is just one of his many projects set for posthumous release. In addition, Patrick Muldoon is set to appear in three other movies, “Dirty Hands,” “Stay at Home,” and “Pray for Me: Key to Freedom.”

      Patrick Muldoon built a career that spanned decades across television and film. His work continues to be remembered by fans of both “Days of Our Lives” and “Melrose Place.”
