Hallmark Star Reflects on How Finding Inner Peace Reshaped Her Entire Life

Jen Lilley, 41, opened up in a candid interview on the โ€œManifesting Your Missionโ€ podcast about how she no longer waits for validation and instead gives herself the grace to accept what she is unable to change.

Lilley explained that throughout her acting career, she would often push to receive before realizing that every role she was going after wasn’t meant for her, but rather a means to survive in the business.

Now, though, the longtime Hallmark star said she has found peace in distancing herself from what she canโ€™t control and has, in turn, made space for new passions that have filled her heart with immense joy.

Jen Lilley Opens Up About Rejection

โ€œAny time you hit a wall, itโ€™s an opportunity to evaluate the situation, see if thereโ€™s a lesson you can learn from it,โ€ she explained to podcast host Brianna Brown Keen.

โ€œSometimes you just need to turn and walk away from the wall,โ€ Lilley continued. โ€œAnd sometimes, you need to be, like, โ€˜Is there a door here? Can I make a door?โ€™โ€

The โ€œMingle All the Wayโ€ star went on to explain how her deep sense of faith has helped to develop her broadened and content mindset.

โ€œ[Faith] helps me not feel rejected, because itโ€™s like, look, I already know Iโ€™m loved,โ€ she said. โ€œI donโ€™t need to book this role in order for me to feel validated. Do I want to book it? Of course.โ€

โ€œAll of us have had those moments where youโ€™re screaming. Youโ€™re like, โ€˜I canโ€™t believe this is it,โ€™ like, when you book the role, and weโ€™ve all had moments where weโ€™re like, โ€˜I really wanted that one,’ but ultimately, I just believe Iโ€™m on a higher path thatโ€™s not really dictated completely by me,” she added. โ€œI just have to do things with love and excellence.โ€

Jen Lilleyโ€™s Return to the Hallmark Channel

Despite taking a step back from Hallmark in 2022 after starring in many remarkable originals for the network, Lilley is making her comeback on March 28 in โ€œA Royal Setting.โ€

The last film she starred in for the Hallmark Channel was โ€œA Little Daytime Dramaโ€ in 2021 before taking a break to develop and author โ€œWake Up Your Faith,โ€ a 365-day devotional book on how to connect with your faith every day, according to CBN.

Lilley also starred in several movies for the Great American Family network, including โ€œPassport to Loveโ€ (2024), โ€œStay for Christmasโ€ (2022), โ€œRoyally Wrapped for Christmasโ€ (2021) and more, according to her IMDb. She was also a prominent actor in โ€œDays of Our Livesโ€ until 2023.

Lillyโ€™s return to the Hallmark Channel will mean that she is no longer exclusive to GAF, a decision she made in 2024, as she plans to star in more works for Hallmark.
