In advance of their fourth wedding anniversary on March 19, 2026, Hallmark fan-favorite Jonathan Bennett and his equally hunky hubby, Jaymes Vaughan, checked into La Casa de la Playa resort and spa in Playa del Carmen, Mexico.
Voted by Travel & Leisure’s readers in 2025 as the number one resort in Mexico, La Casa de la Playa boasts gorgeous oceanside suites, wading pools, haute cuisine, and the Muluk Spa. Bennett has shared several posts from his and Vaughan’s getaway, and wrote in his Stories on March 14 that he was “taking time to breathe and reset, the first time I’ve done this in years.”
Jonathan Bennett & Jaymes Vaughan’s Suite Features Lots of Perks
Bennett posted a carousel of photos from his and Vaughan’s luxurious getaway, including peeks inside their suite, one of the 63 suites on-site.
The couple’s accommodations looked to be La Casa de la Playa’s Wellness Suite, which includes a heated pool with hydromassage, butler service available 24 hours a day, a cleaning service twice a day, a handcrafted hammock overlooking the sea, and an outdoor volcanic rock bathtub with hydromassage.
“Anniversary getaway at @lacasadelaplaya for another adventure,” Bennett captioned his post on March 15. “Celebrating 4 years of marriage in paradise with stunning views, amazing food, and a much needed spa day ❤️”
In another post on March 16, Bennett shared pics from aboard an Xcret yacht, which ports at the resort’s exclusive marina. The “Finding Mr. Christmas” host and co-creator quipped, “I like big boats and I can not lie.”
Vaughan also shared a video of himself diving off the back of the boat into the crystal blue waters.
Jonathan Bennett Says Sharing His Marriage Publicly is Purposeful
GettyBennett and Vaughan have been together nearly 10 years, after meeting on TV in October 2016. Bennett was a guest on Vaughan’s former entertainment show, “Celebrity Page,” and told The Knot that he thought Vaughan was “the most beautiful man” he had ever seen and even quipped to a producer that he might be meeting his “future husband.”
The couple got engaged in November 2020 and married in Mexico on March 19, 2022, in front of 104 guests, according to People. Bennett told the outlet at the time, “If you had told me this was one of my Hallmark movie sets, I would have believed it. It was that perfect.”
In late 2023, Bennett told EntertainmentNow that he and Vaughan never intended to become such a visible couple, blazing a trail for others in the LGBTQ community, but that they’ve been thrilled to do their part, publicly celebrating their relationship whenever they can.
Bennett said posting and talking about their union is something he wished he’d seen in the media when he was a kid, explaining, “When we were young, we didn’t see any representation of any gay couples anywhere…It would have been really helpful for me.”
