“For anyone struggling today because your mom is in heaven, I just want to remind you that love doesn’t disappear when someone is gone,” Bennett wrote. “Mother’s Day can feel heavy when the person you want to call, hug or hear laugh one more time isn’t here physically. But the love they gave us stays woven into who we are forever.”

He concluded his tear-jerking post with something even more personal.

“So if today feels hard, you’re not alone in that feeling. There are so many of us carrying both gratitude and grief at the same time. And that’s okay. My mom loved to come to set with me, she was so proud of what I had done and was my biggest fan.”

Bennett joined the cast of “General Hospital” in the role of Joe Fitzpatrick, with his debut slated for May. It was a full-circle moment for the star who first broke into the industry on daytime television.

“I started my career on soaps, and when the opportunity to go and play a really fun character on General Hospital came up, it felt like a no-brainer,” Bennett told People in April.

“I learned how to act on daytime television when I was 19 years old. Now I’m coming back, but I have a few more tools in my tool belt, so this should be fun!”

The casting news was confirmed by executive producer Frank Valentini, who praised Bennett’s addition to the long-running ABC series, as reported by People.

The film served as a touching tribute to his late father, whose determination to keep their blended family connected became the heart of the story.

In an exclusive interview with EntertainmentNow, Bennett revealed how his dad had a tradition of booking an annual Labor Day houseboat trip.

“My dad would make us go on a houseboat trip every Labor Day for like, 13 years in a row, because my step-siblings and I didn’t always get along, and he discovered that if he took us on a boat, we would have to talk to each other because there’s nowhere else to go,” Bennett told EntertainmentNow in November 2025.

The result was a film he described as something he is “so proud of.”

His mom is in his heart. His dad’s spirit lives in his work. And for Bennett, that is exactly where family belongs.
