Fans of “General Hospital” should get ready, because Jonathan Bennett is heading to Port Charles. The actor has long been a fan favorite on Hallmark, and now he’s stepping into the soap world.

With that in mind, here are five fast facts about Jonathan Bennett before he graces Port Charles with his presence.


1. Jonathan Bennett Is Coming to Port Charles in May 2026

    Jonathan Bennett will make his debut on “General Hospital” as Joe Fitzpatrick in May 2026.

    Executive producer Frank Valentini shared with Soap Opera Digest that he is thrilled to have the actor join the cast.

    He added, “We’re so excited to have Jonathan joining our cast. He’s a tremendous talent and will be a fantastic addition to GH.”


    2. Jonathan Bennett Previously Starred On “All My Children”

      Port Charles isn’t Bennett’s first step into the soap world. As a teenager, Jonathan Bennett briefly portrayed JR Chandler on “All My Children” in the early 2000s.

      His time in Pine Valley was short-lived, as he appeared on the series for a limited run from 2001 to 2002.


      3. Jonathan Bennett Starred in “Mean Girls”

        Bennett’s breakout role came with the 2004 comedy movie “Mean Girls,” which has since become a cult classic.

        Bennett portrayed Aaron Samuels, the love interest of Lindsay Lohan’s character, Cady Heron.


        4. Jonathan Bennett Is A Food Network Host

        Bennett is a man of many talents. Along with his extensive acting portfolio, he has also hosted on Food Network.

        Bennett hosted the cooking competition show, “Cake Wars” from 2015 to 2017. He also currently hosts “Halloween Wars” on Food Network.


        5. Jonathan Bennett Is Married to Jaymes Vaughan

        Along with his impressive entertainment career, Bennett is also a gay icon. Bennett has earned the nickname “The Gay King of Christmas” for his work on Hallmark.

        Bennett actually starred in the network’s first-ever gay-led romantic comedy film, “The Holiday Sitter.”

        Off-screen, Jonathan Bennett is married to his husband, Jaymes Vaughan, who was a contestant on “The Amazing Race.”

        In 2021, the couple made the cover of the magazine “The Knot.” They were the first gay couple to be featured on the magazine’s cover.

        Bennett and Vaughan officially tied the knot in March 2022.
