HGTV fans who can’t get enough of David Bromstad are in for an extra-special treat: a look inside his newly renovated Florida home.
The “My Lottery Dream House” star shared an Instagram Story on September 17, 2025, featuring a video originally posted by one of his best friends, Lana Reiss, who’s been his makeup artist on the show for years. In the video, Bromstad gives Reiss permission to “tease” his upcoming special — which HGTV has not formally announced — and it’s clear she cannot wait for fans to see it.
David Bromstad Calls His New Home Designs ‘Yummy’
Reiss, who has also worked on HGTV shows with Drew and Jonathan Scott in the past, is fiercely protective of her friendship with Bromstad and details about “My Lottery Dream Home,” periodically reminding her social media followers not to ask for inside scoop on either.
But in her Instagram Stories on September 17, she posted a video of herself at Bromstad’s home, saying, “You don’t even understand how amazing this special is gonna be. You’re like, ‘What special?’ I’m not telling you!”
In the background, Bromstad could be heard laughing as he said, “You can tease it!”
Reiss then beamed, “David’s home is phenomenal,” and he could be heard sweetly replying, “Thanks!”
“It is so stupid,” she continued, and he echoed, “So stupid!” Reiss then quipped, “You guys are gonna lose your tits. I don’t know. I am. I’m losing mine right now! Where’d they go?!”
Bromstad shared his bestie’s video in his Stories, along with several photos that Reiss had posted of his newly-renovated space, including a corner with a collection of all-red books, candles and sculptural glass art with her added text: “You guys are gonna lose it.”
Another photo that Bromstad added to his Stories revealed large sherbet-colored, hanging lights that looked like blown glass orbs, over which he wrote, “Yummy.”
Bromstad also posted a selfie in his Stories, in which a scalloped pink mirror in the background revealed elements of the interior design he’s been working on for several years, including a wood-panneled ceiling, custom arched doorway and more unique lighting fixtures.
Renovations Have Been Underway at David Bromstad’s Orlando House For 3 Years
HGTV has not announced a special starring Bromstad, but it would make sense for him to update fans on how he’s transformed the home he purchased in 2021, when HGTV aired a special called “My Lottery Dream Home: David’s Dream Home.” The show chronicled his search for his ideal house in Orlando.
Bromstad settled on a five-bedroom, four-bathroom Tudor that he paid $975,000 for, per real estate documents reviewed by EntertainmentNow.
When Realtor.com asked Bromstad whether he had plans to renovate his new home, he replied, “You have no idea! When I was doing ‘Design Star’ and ‘Color Splash,’ there’s always a limit for a client. This is the first time in my entire life that I’ll be able to flex my own creative muscles.”
“This is the first house I’ve owned on my own,” he continued. “With all my other houses I had a partner, so there was always a second opinion. Now, I have no second opinion. It’s going to be delicious, tasteful, bold, but yet really comforting. Oh, I can’t wait.”
Permits and supporting documents reviewed by EntertainmentNow showed that Bromstad’s home has undergone extensive changes, including a massive addition approved by the city in 2022, featuring a giant first floor theater and gaming room, as well as a second story primary bedroom suite with a sitting area, huge closet and pergola deck.
In July 2024, Bromstad shared in his Instagram Stories the process of installing new windows and sliding glass doors, and bringing in two truck beds full of stone for the home’s interior and exterior. Noting that he planned to cover his walls in white stone, he teased, ““Like, you can’t tell me that I’m not gonna live in a deliciously frosted cake of a castle!”
During the summer of 2025, Bromstad also shared brief videos in his Instagram Stories of the transformation taking place in his backyard, with unique sculpted pergolas built on the pool deck.
Though it’s not clear when a special about Bromstad’s own dream home will premiere, new episodes of “My Lottery Dream Home” air every Friday night on HGTV at 9 p.m. Eastern time.
