David Bromstad Faces His ‘Toughest Client Yet’ on HGTV’s ‘My Lottery Dream Home’

David Bromstad‘s sunny and engaging personality can brighten anyone’s day — but he struggled to win over one “My Lottery Dream Home” client. In a humorous HGTV video, Bromstad attempts to connect with the home buyers’ quiet teenage daughter.

David Bromstad Deals With His ‘Toughest Client’

On March 20, the HGTV Instagram account shared a clip from the night’s new episode. “Instant #MyLotteryDreamHome icon. Watch David try to find a property in Santa Fe, NM for Mariella & her fam on tonight’s new ep at 9|8c!” the caption noted.

The video notes that it’s “David’s toughest client yet (a teenager),” so you know he’s in for a bumpy ride. As they look at different homes, Bromstad asks for Mariella’s opinion and she doesn’t quite match his energy.

“What else can I do for you, your majesty?” he jokingly asks her at one point.

Bromstad also asks, “Do you like it or do you hate it? … I can’t tell!”

She smiles and assures him, “I like it.”

Bromstad responds, “Okay, good. I have to hear words.”

Fans Weigh In on Bromstad’s Interactions With the Teen

Fans flooded the comments section to praise Bromstad for handling the awkward moments in the episode. “He’s great! He knew how to work it!” one fan wrote.

Others noted, “David did an amazing job” and “He handled it perfectly.”

A debate broke out about whether the girl was quiet or rude. One fan confirmed, “I watched it tonight. She wasn’t a talker and David said ‘I need to hear words.'”

They added, “Teenagers are not always vocal these days because they use digital devices to communicate. I think 🤔 it was just a way to get the young girl involved in the house hunting situation. I believe she did very well.”

“Yeah, if you haven’t spent a considerable amount of time around teenagers lately you wouldn’t know that this isn’t rude, or abnormal,” another follower shared. “Trust me, if they are being rude, it is loud, and very obvious. This younger generation is just more laid back, observational, and nonverbal.”

Another viewer noted that the teen “was playful cheeky” and possibly “coached by producers.” The HGTV fan added, “I felt like she was just a shy teen and they tried to give some screen time and attention by doing so.”

“Watched and saw a teenager who is simply shy,” another fan wrote. “I loved that she was showing off her new home at the end. We are all not talkers 🥰 Would have loved to see some of her artwork!”

  1. I saw it and was SHOCKED the way she spoke to David and even MORE SHOCKED that her parents didn’t say a thing!!! It TOTALLY DISGUSTED me!!! She obviously has NOT BEEN TAUGHT ANY RESPECT!!! I noticed it was being shown again and I changed the channel!!! David deserves to be respected!!!
