David Bromstad loves his job as host of “My Lottery Dream Home,” but he admits there is one challenging aspect of the gig. See what the HGTV star said about the challenges and the best part of the show.
David Bromstad Gets Real About Hosting ‘My Lottery Dream Home’
In a March 6 HGTV Instagram post, the network shared a video of Bromstad talking with Tucker, the executive producer of “My Lottery Dream Home.”
When a scheduled Zoom meeting was canceled, Bromstad took the opportunity to chat with Tucker. “We are a circus,” Bromstad noted.
Tucker pointed around the room, saying, “All of these guys have been here practically since season 1. And to think that we’ve invited our lottery winners to come work on the show — it’s like, it’s a great experience for all of us.”
He added, “It’s just been a great run. And it’s thanks to all of our viewers at home for keeping us employed.”
Tucker continued, “It’s thanks to the family that we work with that we get to do this every day. It would suck if we didn’t like the people.”
Bromstad admitted, “I spend more time with these human beings than I do with my own friends or family. So they become such an extension. There’s such a respect and admiration that I have for all of these human beings here.”
“Putting their lives … not on hold, but … on an airplane, all the time away from their family and friends,” the host added.
Tucker then thanked Bromstad. “From me to you, from the crew, from all of us — thank you for what you do. Thank you for keeping us gainfully employed. Thank you for all the effort you put into this and all the love and all of you.”
“You’re a dream to work with,” he added. “I’m excited that we got to show a little bit behind the curtain for all the viewers at home who are the reason why we all have jobs.”
Bromstad noted, “You know, I do love this job. It is hard. And the travel is the hardest part. The connection with the people is what makes it worth it.”
