Heather Rae El Moussa and Christina Haack’s friendship might be unconventional to others — but to them, it was the blessing they both needed.
Despite Heather marrying Christina’s ex-husband Tarek El Moussa, the two blonde beauties became close friends through co-parenting their young children after Heather and Tarek married in 2021.
When they aren’t flipping gorgeous homes on HGTV’s “The Flip Off,” Heather, Christina and their blended families often enjoy vacations together, sharing highlights from their travels on social media.
Heather El Moussa Opens Up About Christina Haack Friendship
In an Instagram post from the former “Selling Sunset” star on April 8, she shared a video with Christina and their partners, Tarek and Christopher Larocca. As the foursome struts towards the camera, Heather and Christina push their beaus out of the frame.
Heather added a text overlay on the video to explain its significance, writing, “When the double date is actually for us.”
The HGTV star joked about prioritizing Christina over her husband in the caption of her post, saying, “We said double date but we meant a girls night. The boys are still figuring that out 😂💅🏽.”
Within the comments of the video, a fan questioned Heather if she and Christina were true friends or if they were faking a friendship as a PR stunt to keep their HGTV show and presence in the media.
“Do you guys really like each other or is it for the publicity? 😉 You’re both such beautiful women! How was Tarek so lucky?!?” the fan asked.
Heather responded, defending her bond with Christina, writing, “we are best friends!! 🥰.”
Heather El Moussa & Christina Haack ‘Rise Above’ Criticism
For Christina’s 42nd birthday in 2025, Heather shared a heartfelt message on her Instagram Story, mentioning the need to “rise above” the criticism about being friends with her husband’s ex-wife.
“It’s crazy how far we’ve come & most will never understand how we are friends,” she wrote, People reported. “I’m grateful for our relationship & our ability to rise above the noise!”
Tarek has also been transparent about his relationship with Christina, with whom he shares children, Taylor Reese and Brayden James. During a red carpet event for DIRECTV’s Christmas at Kathy’s holiday party in 2024, Tarek spoke with Access Hollywood, where he touted his ex and their continued support for each other.
“We’re here for anything she needs, honestly,” Tarek said. “I know there’s a lot of stuff going on in the world between the co-parenting, but at the end of the day, we’re actually friends. We take care of each other; we’re really supportive.”

I was good friends with my husband’s ex. He saw something in her that made him want to marry the woman. Apparently he saw something in me that he wanted to marry so she and I had that in common. I figured she had a lot in common with me. Besides he wasn’t married to her anymore, he was married to me.
