Heather Rae El Moussa Reflects on Becoming a Stepmom
El Moussa admitted she initially had concerns about what life would look like marrying someone with children, including the challenges of co-parenting and navigating new family dynamics.
“I never thought I would marry a man with kids,” she said in the video. “People warned me how hard it would be, the schedules, the co-parenting, the blended family stuff.”
While she acknowledged that some parts were difficult at first, she said the experience ultimately changed her in ways she didn’t expect.
“What nobody told me was how much it would crack my heart open,” she said. “Loving kids that didn’t start as mine taught me about love that I didn’t know was missing.”
El Moussa also shared that watching her husband as a father deepened her connection to him, adding that she “didn’t just marry a man,” but “a whole beautiful, complicated, loud, wonderful life.”
Christina Haack Shows Support in the Comments
GettyHaack responded to the post with a supportive message, writing “right back at you” with a heart emoji. She later added another comment calling El Moussa a “best mommy.”
The interaction reflects the ongoing co-parenting dynamic between the group, which they have shared publicly in the past. The blended family has appeared together in photos and social media posts, highlighting a supportive relationship between El Moussa, Haack, and Tarek.
The Blended Family Dynamic Has Been a Central Part of Her Story
GettyEl Moussa also revealed in the video that her relationship with Tarek’s children played a role in her decision to have a child of her own.
She said there was a time when she questioned whether she wanted to become a mother, but stepping into a stepmom role shifted her perspective.
“I dove right in, became a bonus mommy, and then I realized I wanted my own baby as well,” she said.
That journey has been part of a larger blended family dynamic that the couple has embraced publicly. In previous interviews and social media posts, the family has shared moments together, offering a look at how they navigate co-parenting.
El Moussa added that the experience has been “really, really special,” describing their family as “beautiful” and “loving.”
