After a year full of difficult goodbyes, from mourning cherished friends and family to losing beloved pets, Jenny Marrs just revealed her family is reeling again from a “traumatizing” loss. On May 24, 2026, the HGTV star shared in her Instagram Stories that one of their adorable sheep had just died while another — one of the new lambs on their Arkansas farm — is struggling.
Jenny Marrs Says She’s ‘So Heartbroken’ Over Health Challenges for Her Sheep
Over a beautiful photo of two sheep grazing, Jenny wrote in her Stories, “We lost one of our sheep, Gizmo, yesterday. It happened so fast and it was pretty traumatizing for all of us.”
The “Fixer to Fabulous” star then explained, “He may have had an underlying condition and the stress of shearing was too much for him. We don’t really know and probably never will. But because of the loss we found out what’s happening with Hazel.”
Hazel is one of two adorable lambs the Marrs family adopted this spring, which was a big deal because they lost Tommy, another little lamb they’d grown very close to, in 2024, and in 2025, they lost their mama sheep BaaBaa and her babies.
Jenny has shared multiple posts about how she’s been caring for Hazel and Walter, but in an Instagram Story posted just before Jenny’s sad news about Gizmo, Jenny wrote, “Appreciate prayers for our girl Hazel. She is on medicine and is eating well, but she has some pretty serious health stuff happening now.”
In Jenny’s update on Gizmo, she shared, “Sheep are fine and healthy until suddenly, they’re not. My heart is heavy today. Seeking joy in the sunshine and the laughter of the kids. And saying so many prayers of healing for my girl. I am just so heartbroken and worried about her.”
Jenny Marrs Said Adopting 2 New Lambs Was Her Way of ‘Daring to Hope’
Jenny and her family — husband Dave and their five kids — have faced a great deal of loss over the last year or so. In addition to losing multiple beloved animals on their farm, they were also heartbroken by the death of Dave’s mom in September, and two neighbors they adored — Mr. Bob passed in April 2025 and his wife Jill died in September, just before Dave’s mom.
After a season of mourning, Jenny wrote in March 2026 that she was “daring to hope” after another neighbor, Mr. Tommy, called to ask if she’d take in two bottle-fed lambs — Walter and Hazel. She wrote that they decided to welcome them to the farm “with expectant hope for the joy they’ll bring despite the distinct possibility for sorrow.”
On May 21, days before Gizmo’s death and Hazel’s illness, Jenny updated fans by posting, “After the traumatizing loss of our BaaBaa and her quadruplets earlier this year, I wondered if we would ever have little lambs again at the farm. Just a month later, our neighbor had orphaned twin lambs who needed care and I didn’t hesitate before taking them in.”
“But, if I’m honest, I was guarded,” she admitted. “The last orphaned lamb we cared for, our sweet Tommy, passed away and his loss absolutely broke my heart.”
“Over these past couple of months,” she continued, “Hazel and Walter have brought so much joy, laughter and peace to our little patch of land. The abundance of these twin lambs is such a sweet, unexpected gift and a reminder that, just like Psalm 65:11 (NLT) states, hard pathways can and WILL overflow with abundance.”
