If you’ve been hangin’ tough waiting for Jonathan Knight to make his HGTV return, the wait is officially over. The 57-year-old New Kids on the Block alum and beloved home renovator confirmed in an exclusive with People magazine on May 6 that he’s got a new gig with the network. Knight will be hosting “Crashers,” a new series giving major surprise-makeover energy while also reviving one of the network’s most popular franchise names.
Discovery’s “Crashers” universe — “House Crashers,” “Yard Crashers,” “Kitchen Crashers,” “Bath Crashers” — was the early-2010s DIY Network juggernaut in which hosts ambushed unsuspecting shoppers in home-improvement aisles and offered to renovate their spaces on the spot. Knight will be dusting off that formula and giving it a fresh HGTV polish for a new generation of homeowners.
More on What to Expect From Jonathan Knight’s New HGTV Show ‘Crashers’
Knight confirmed his new hosting gig on his Instagram page after the news broke.
For Block heads who’ve followed Knight’s renovation evolution since 2021, this announcement is welcome news. “Farmhouse Fixer,” his hit series with designer Kristina Crestin, wrapped its three-season run in 2025 when HGTV opted not to renew. Knight took the news in stride, telling fans he was still processing the decision while pivoting full-time to NKOTB’s blockbuster Las Vegas residency at Park MGM’s Dolby Live.
So, what can we expect from the former pop star in his newest gig?
“Rather than spending months restoring 300-year-old farmhouses like he did on his former HGTV series Farmhouse Fixer, Knight will be surprising unsuspecting homeowners — at spots like furniture shops, hardware stores, wherever he finds them — and offering them a fast, free renovation of a problematic room in their home,” People reported, adding:
“The owners must leave the house immediately without any input on the design, but with a promise that the renovation will be completed in 72 hours.”
There’s also the potential for some serious crossover magic. Alison Victoria, Knight’s longtime network pal and a real-life NKOTB superfan, originally fronted “Kitchen Crashers” on DIY Network before leveling up to “Windy City Rehab.” Knight stepping into the Crashers franchise gives an obvious excuse for an Alison cameo.
Knight Has Carved Out an Impressive Career Renovating Houses
GettyKnight has long teased that he wanted his next gig to lean less manufactured-drama and more genuine education — telling Country Living in June of 2025 that he gravitates toward shows where viewers actually walk away having learned something. The Crashers format fits that mission perfectly.
For the uninitiated: Knight has been quietly flipping houses for over two decades, has overhauled more than 200 properties, and treats centuries-old New England farmhouses with the same reverence he reserves for a Boston Garden setlist. He also memorably competed alongside brother Jordan Knight on “Rock the Block” Season 6 — a sibling team-up that nearly broke HGTV Twitter and proved he can fix more than just the broken hearts of NKOTB fans.
Now, he’s taking his talents to a different show with a fun and intriguing premise. Step by step, indeed. According to People, Knight’s takeover of ‘Crashers’ will premiere on June 8 at 10 pm ET on HGTV and HBO Max.

Bring Kristina back too!
I really miss his show…i just loved how he brought back those old farmhouses…i feel the same way he does about saving them…bringing back history on those beautiful old farmhouses…..HGTV has really screwed up by cancelling all the REALLY good shows and replacing them with stupid ass shows…HGTV used to be my favorite channel to watch…now I really dont watch as often…I know quite a few people that has boycotted HGTV and who refuse to watch it anymore…
Sure happy to read this news—I look forward to seeing “Crashers”!!! Yay!!!
