When HGTV’s new competition show, “Bachelor Mansion Takeover,” premieres on March 2, 2026, its star-studded lineup of guest judges will include the return of beloved alum Nate Berkus, who hasn’t appeared on the network since early 2023.
Berkus starred with his husband, “Queer Eye” star Jeremiah Brent, on HGTV’s “Nate & Jeremiah’s Home Project” and “Nate and Jeremiah: Save My House.” The couple also competed on season two of “Rock the Block.” Could Berkus’s guest hosting gig signal there’s more to come?
Nate Berkus Appears in New Promo for ‘Bachelor Mansion Takeover’
A social media preview of “Bachelor Mansion Takeover” was posted by HGTV on February 22, with a first look at Berkus and the other celebrities who will guest judge all the transformations made to the iconic mansion that’s been featured on ABC’s “The Bachelor” and “The Bachelorette” since the franchise began.
Berkus’s fellow guest judges include longtime HGTV star Christina Haack, actress Rachel Bilson, season 17 “Bachelor” Sean Lowe, and “Bachelorette” alums JoJo Fletcher from season 12 and Hannah Brown of season 15. They’ll add their insights to the critiques of main judges Tayshia Adams and Tyler Cameron, both popular alums within Bachelor Nation.
It’s not clear which space Berkus will guest judge during the six-episode limited series. In the new promo, he’s seen standing in a well-appointed room as he says, “Really great interior design is not about what’s expensive or the fanciest option, it’s about what tells a story.”
Inside Nate Berkus & Jeremiah Brent’s HGTV History
HGTVBerkus, an interior designer who rose to fame decades ago as a frequent guest on “The Oprah Winfrey Show,” has been married to Brent since 2014 and they share two kids — daughter Poppy, 10, and son Oskar, 7.
While running their successful design businesses, Brent and Berkus have starred in three reality shows together. From 2017 to 2019, their TLC show “Nate & Jeremiah By Design” aired for three seasons. In 2020, they moved over to HGTV with “Nate & Jeremiah: Save My House,” produced by Drew and Jonathan Scott’s entertainment company.
In the fall of 2021, “The Nate & Jeremiah Home Project,” another Scott Brothers Entertainment production, premiered on HGTV with over 13 million viewers tuning in during the first season, according to a press release. The show’s second season premiered in February 2023.
After Bobby Berk left Netflix’s “Queer Eye” in 2023, Brent was hired to take his place as the show’s design expert. He spent the last two seasons on the series, which ended its run in January.
When Brent was asked in February 2025 whether he and Berkus would ever continue filming their HGTV show, he quipped to Us Weekly, “I don’t know, we did it for so long, I need a break — I see him every day! I mean, I would do anything with him, but to be honest with you, doing this show, ‘Queer Eye,’ has changed my life.”
“Bachelor Mansion Takeover” premieres on March 2 at 8 p.m. Eastern time, hosted by “The Bachelor” alum Jesse Palmer.
