Tarek El Moussa is getting real about his relationship with ex-wife Christina Haack.
The HGTV star and wife Heather Rae El Moussa opened the doors of their new home to Entertainment Tonight for not just a tour, but also a candid discussion about their blended family.
ET reporter Diedre Behar talked to the couple, saying, “I have to tell you, the reception from the audience is just so overwhelmingly positive that your family is able to not only just work with Christina, [addressing Heather] you seem like you’re just real proper girlfriends with Christina, like you’re making content together. Tell me how close are you with her? And how does that reaction make you feel?”
“How does it actually make you feel?” Heather asked Tarek laughing.
“You must’ve done something right in a past life,” Diedre joked to Tarek.
Tarek responded, “I do know this, like when we [he and Heather] have issues, she’ll call Christina for advice.”
“How do you know that?” Heather asked.
“You told me!,” Tarek replied.
Tarek El Moussa Adjusts to Friendship Between Wife and Ex-Wife
Heather El Moussa admits that she does sometimes seek advice from Christina in dealing with Tarek and his ADHD.
But that’s a relatively new development.
“Christina and I, we got closer from ‘The Flip Off,’ because before we just co-parented. We talked about the kids. The show actually brought us closer together, all of us,” Heather said gesturing to Tarek.
“Way closer together,” Tarek agreed.
“It is literally the best thing in the world,” Tarek went on. “Like we just had Brayden’s tenth birthday party at the house. Everyone was here. And it’s so nice that the kids see their mom, their dad, their stepmom, grandparents and all of us as a family.”
“Time heals a lot,” Heather added. “It’s been almost like a decade.” “Wow,” Tarek said.
“It feels like the love is deeper than ever,” Diedre commented.
“I wouldn’t call it love,” Tarek laughed.
“Is it like brother-sister vibes?,” Diedre asked.
“Yes, very much,” Heather laughed, describing the hilarious scene when Tarek and Christina are forced to hug and act like they can’t stand to do it.
Season Two of ‘The Flip Off’ Might See a Team Reshuffle
In the ET interview, Tarek and Heather Rae El Moussa continued to hint at a possible team reshuffle for season two of “The Flip Off,” their HGTV show with Christina Haack.
But nothing official has been announced.
HGTV’s official announcement about season two reads, “Teams will compete to see who can find, buy, renovate and flip a house for the biggest financial gain. Having learned her lessons from last season, Christina will throw out the rule book and do everything she can to beat Tarek and Heather at the flipping game. But they won’t give up their crown easily in an all-out battle to see who can win Round 2 of The Flip Off.”
But Christina, Tarek and Heather keep dropping hints that that description, at least when it comes to who faces off against who, might not be quite accurate.
Tarek, Heather and Christina followed up on the season two announcement with another Instagram video just a few days later that cheekily suggested things were about to change.
That one was titled “Let’s Play Two Truths & a Lie.”
In the video, Christina says, “OK, I’ll go first. Tarek wears a toupee,” referring back to the wig that ended up on the floor in the season two post.
Then Heather says, “There may be a partner swap on season two of ‘The Flip Off,’” – which is highlighted by the sound of a record scratch.
When Tarek takes his turn, he declares, “And I’m still the [expletive] king of flipping.”
The end slate reads “The Flip/Off season 2 surprises coming… stay tuned!”
