Christina Haack, Tarek and Heather Rae El Moussa are dropping big hints for fans that changes may be on the way for season two of “The Flip Off.”
HGTV announced season two on August 22nd. And the trio banded together to spread the good news on Instagram by way of a funny video where all three get a text that reads “The Flip Off season 2 is a go!”
In the video, Tarek crowns himself the king of flipping, but that crown, and a hairpiece end up on the floor in the video.
The post’s caption reads, “Season 1 was just the warm-up… 😏 #TheFlipOff”
HGTV’s official announcement about season two reads, “Teams will compete to see who can find, buy, renovate and flip a house for the biggest financial gain. Having learned her lessons from last season, Christina will throw out the rule book and do everything she can to beat Tarek and Heather at the flipping game. But they won’t give up their crown easily in an all-out battle to see who can win Round 2 of The Flip Off.”
But Christina, Tarek and Heather are hinting that those teams just might change.
Two Truths and a Lie Could Flip ‘The Flip Off’
Tarek, Heather and Christina were at it again in another Instagram video posted Sunday, August 24.
That one was titled “Let’s Play Two Truths & a Lie.”
In the video, Christina says, “OK, I’ll go first. Tarek wears a toupee.”
Then Heather says, “There may be a partner swap on season two of ‘The Flip Off,'” as we hear the sound of a record scratch.
Then Tarek declares, “And I’m still the [expletive] king of flipping.”
The end slate reads “The Flip/Off season 2 surprises coming… stay tuned!”
It should also be noted that in the original post announcing season two, Heather and Christina were together in the kitchen and clearly at odds with Tarek when he came racing in wearing a crown.
Team Flip in ‘The Flip Off’ Has Been Hinted at Before
Heather El Moussa has hinted at her desire to flip the script on “The Flip Off” for season two in the past.
In an interview with People, Heather says she’d love to team up with Christina Haack. She says she’s happy for the so-called “King of Flipping” to fly solo in the competition. “I think that it would be super fun. I think that people would love to see Christina and I working together and beating my husband because he thinks that he could beat us, especially in a design contest,” Heather enthused.
In fact, she’s even discussed the idea with Tarek.
She told People, “The other night, I was picking on [Tarek] about something and we were going back and forth. He’s like, ‘I could beat you guys,’ and I was like, ‘Oh, really? You think you could beat us in a design-off?’ And he said, ‘Yes.’”
Heather says she responded with dismay, saying, “Are you crazy? Against two designers?!”
Heather also believes the team swap could be an interesting twist from a design perspective.
“I’m so up for the challenge. And it’d be interesting to see how Christina and I work together and design together.”
