ForTarek El Moussa, the early days of falling in love with his wife, Heather Rae El Moussa, still hold a special kind of magic. El Moussa is now giving fans a closer glimpse and taking a moment to reflect on the journey he shares with the love of his life.
HGTVIn a heartfelt Instagram post shared on April 27, the HGTV star revisited the milestones that have shaped their relationship, offering fans a glimpse into how quickly their connection grew after they first met in 2019.
From First Meeting to Moving In Within Days
El Moussa is still smiling at the memory of how he first crossed paths with Heather during a Fourth of July celebration on neighboring boats.
“I laid on my boat horn to grab her attention and keep the other guy from hitting on her,” he wrote in a nostalgic post.
He described their connection as immediate, recalling how quickly their relationship took shape. “First date and I knew I met the love of my life,” he continued. “Less than a week after, we moved in together and never looked back.”
Blending Families and Building a Life Together
As their bond grew stronger, El Moussa welcomed Heather into an important part of his life by introducing her to his children, Taylor and Brayden, whom he shares with Christina Haack.
He later marked the moment with a photo, writing, “Heather met Taylor and Brayden for the first time.”
Their relationship continued to evolve, leading to a heartfelt proposal on Catalina Island.
“I got down on one knee to ask this woman to spend her life with me,” he wrote.
After navigating the uncertainties of planning a wedding during the pandemic, the couple tied the knot in October 2021.
“Had some troubles planning a wedding during the pandemic,” El Moussa added. “Finally got married! (Flipped her name for good).”
Parenthood, Career Milestones, and Life Today
As their relationship continued to grow, El Moussa and Heather decided to expand their family, beginning an IVF journey that led to the birth of their son, Tristan, in January 2023.
“We didn’t want more kids, but then changed our minds, and started IVF together. Heather had her egg extractions done. Baby El Moussa was on his way! Baby boy El Moussa, actually,” he shared.
Alongside their growing family, the couple has also built a shared professional path, working together on their HGTV series “The Flipping El Moussas” and preparing to appear in Season 2 of “The Flip Off” alongside Christina Haack.
Heather has also opened up about their relationship in her own words, marking a milestone anniversary in October 2025 with a heartfelt message.
“To my honey. We’ve had such a full life together already. Life can be hard, marriage can be hard,” she wrote.
“And I do know there will be ups and there will be downs but it is also so beautiful to be in this life with you as my partner. I love you, and I’m so excited to keep growing and learning together to be the best versions of ourselves.”
She added, “Thank you for inspiring me, guiding me, working SO hard for our family & loving us so deeply. I love you!! Happy 4 year anniversary lovey. Me & You.”
