‘Love It or List It’ Star Takes on Pro Athlete in Crazy Challenge [Video]

If you thought “Love It or List It” star David Visentin kept his competition strictly to real estate… think again. The longtime HGTV personality just stepped way outside his comfort zone (and straight into a pool) for a challenge that’ll have fans doing a double take. And honestly? It seems like he knew exactly what he was getting into… and did it anyway.

Visentin, who’s been part of the show since its 2008 debut, first alongside Hilary Farr and more recently with Page Turner. Making him no stranger to friendly rivalries (we’re still not over the Hilary vs. David debates). But this time, he swapped property battles for a full-on underwater face-off against a professional athlete. Yep, you read that right… a swimming challenge.

A Pool Challenge He Won’t Forget

On April 28, 2026, Visentin took to Instagram to share a video that felt very different from his usual home tours and real estate insights. Instead, fans got to see him take on a seriously intense underwater lap challenge against pro triathlete Dillon Longo.

His caption said:

Challenged our sponsored pro triathlete @dillonlongo to an underwater lap in a 25m pool in King City and deeply regretted it 🏊Proud to sponsor someone who is clearly built differently.

Let’s be real; challenging a triathlete to anything water-related is already bold. Doing it underwater? That’s next-level confidence (or chaos… or both).

The video shows Visentin giving it his all, but it’s pretty clear early on that Longo is operating on a completely different level. Which makes sense… this is literally what he trains for. Still, Visentin doesn’t back down, and that’s part of what makes the whole thing so fun to watch.

The comment section, of course, didn’t disappoint either. co-host Page Turner also jumped in, saying, “I will def not participate in this challenge 😂” to which Visentin replied, “@pageturnerunlimited you’d love it…once you get past the panic..is what I am assuming!

And that exchange alone feels like a perfect snapshot of their dynamic; supportive, funny, and just self-aware enough to know this kind of challenge is not for the faint of heart.

And because he knows how to keep things light, Visentin even added his own follow-up in the comments:

The secret I have learned is to remain calm. Calm is not what I experienced. lol! There will be a rematch @dillonlongo!

A rematch? We’d love to see it too.

Supporting Athletes & Leaning Into the Chaos

This wasn’t just a random stunt for laughs (though it absolutely delivered on that front). Visentin Real Estate is currently sponsoring Longo as he trains for upcoming triathlon events, making the challenge part friendly competition, part promotional moment, and all kinds of entertaining.

Instead of a standard sponsorship post, Visentin leaned fully into the moment… turning it into something fans could actually watch unfold. It’s the kind of content that feels less like marketing and more like “what did I just witness?

And that’s exactly why it works.

What’s Next for ‘Love It or List It’?

While Visentin is busy testing his lung capacity against elite athletes, fans are still waiting on updates for the next season of “Love It or List It.”

Season 20 wrapped back in June 2025 (according to Next Episode), and by August 2025, it was confirmed the show would return with a casting call for new homeowners ready to make the big decision: stay and renovate, or list and move on.

Then in February 2026, co-host Page Turner shared that she was filming in Toronto for the upcoming season. So yes; it’s officially in motion.

At the time of this writing, however, HGTV hasn’t announced a premiere date for Season 21, but everything points to it landing sometime this year.

Until then, moments like this Instagram challenge are keeping fans entertained. And showing a lighter, more chaotic side of David Visentin that fits surprisingly well outside of real estate.

Because sure, he helps people decide what to do with their homes… but apparently, he’s also willing to lose a breath-holding contest to a pro athlete and call for a rematch.

And honestly? It’s the kind of energy we didn’t know we needed.
