Fans of “Love It or List” star David Visentin know he’s a real estate wiz who makes it tough for homeowners to turn down the gorgeous new properties he shows them.
But what they may not know is that when he’s not filming with HGTV, he’s running a very successful family business. Yep, FAMILY.
David and his two brothers, Ido and Paulo, and his sister Bonnie, all run Visentin Real Estate in Toronto, Canada.
And what’s more, the four are the second generation of successful Toronto realtors!
David Visentin’s 90-Year-Old Dad Is a Retired Realtor
According to Visentin Real Estate’s “About” page, real estate runs in David Visentin’s blood.
The page explains, “You could say that real estate is in the Visentin family genes. We knew the business long before actually becoming realtors ourselves. One of our fondest memories is watching our Dad, Nick, way back in 1978; we huddled around him in our basement as he worked on what would become the original brokerage logo for In Town Realty, which would eventually become Country Living Realty.”
In fact, all four Visentin kids learned the real estate business first-hand when they were still kids. “By 1982, all four Visentin kids knew how to answer the phones, book a showing and find paper-thin tear sheets for listing information,” reads the About page.
Growing up in the real estate business also kept the family moving.
The About page reads, “Our father loved to move with the real estate market, and we moved as it changed. It taught us a lot about the experience of relocating and the importance of immersing yourself in a new community. We have lived in Barrie, Rosemont, North York, Malton, Etobicoke, and The Beach, just to name a few. We made each neighbourhood our home and is the reason why this business is so personal to us.”
It Took Years for David’s Sister to Join the Firm
While David Visentin and his two brothers became realtors in 1987, it took another 24 years for their sister Bonnie to join the firm.
On his website, David explains, “Bonnie followed in the family footsteps and all four Visentin siblings solidified their ranks as a team – specializing in country living real estate, including land, farms and cottage properties. Bonnie’s particular passion for the city has continued to grow in a complimentary fashion to the country living focus of her brothers, where she maintains a solid client base and a modest roster of city properties in the Toronto area.”
David Visentin Takes a Walk on the Design Side
While David Visentin handles the real estate side and Page Turner handles the design side on “Love It or List It,” in his real estate firm it’s a different story.
Clients of Visentin Real Estate get a free day with with the firm’s interior designer, Lyn Phillips.
In an Instagram post, David writes, “Start to finish, we’re with you.
Buying with us means more than just keys and contracts. Our buyer clients get a complimentary day with our incredible interior designer, Lyn Phillips. From layout to lighting—she helps you make your new house feel like home.”
They also stage clients’ homes to sell, explaining that they sell an average of 73% faster.
