“I think I’m happier now than I’ve ever been in my life,” the singer and actress told People. “It’s amazing. It’s wonderful being 70 and getting to do what I get to do at the level I want to do it.”

Since signing her first record deal in 1975, McEntire has sold over 75 million albums, earned three Grammys, and built a lasting legacy as one of country music’s most beloved voices. She also became a household name with her hit sitcom “Reba” and continues to charm audiences through her music, acting, and television projects.

McEntire and Linn first met while filming “The Gambler Returns: The Luck of the Draw” in 1991 and reconnected romantically in 2020.

The “I’m a Survivor” singer revealed their engagement in September but says Linn proposed months earlier. “I’ve never been loved by a man like Rex Linn. Rex is a very tender-hearted man, and I just love him with all my heart. He’s a good guy. Real bashful though,” she told People.

She also added that working together is a joy. “Wherever we go, that is our ‘Happy’s Place,'” McEntire says. “Getting to work with Rex, drive to work with Rex, do the show, the rehearsals, drive home, talk about it, rehearse together — that’s what’s really special for me. I’ve not had that before.”

Looking ahead, McEntire says she’s done stressing over “the little stuff or the big stuff.” Her biggest lesson has been to stop living for tomorrow or yesterday.

“I used to think being content was a no-no, because if you’re content, you’re not going to strive to continue to do better,” she said. “That’s not true. As I tell artists on ‘The Voice,’ and anybody that ever asks me for advice, I’ll say, ‘Enjoy every minute.'”

‘Happy’s Place’ Feels Like Home

McEntire describes filming “Happy’s Place” as a joyful experience with a close-knit team that includes Melissa Peterman, Belissa Escobedo, and her fiancé, Rex Linn. This season also reunites her with JoAnna Garcia Swisher, who played her daughter on “Reba.”

“It’s just like there’s not been a day between the last time I got to work with her,” McEntire said. “Having Melissa Peterman on the show and Rex Linn, we are a tight-knit family, an acting team, and we have so much fun together. Anytime I get to step on that set, I feel like home. It’s my happy place.”

How ‘The Voice’ Gives McEntire a Fresh Spark

Returning for her fourth season as a coach on “The Voice,” McEntire says the show keeps surprising her.

“They find the best people. I am blown away every season,” she shared, as per People. She also enjoys the company of her fellow coaches. “Michael Bublé is a good buddy, and Niall Horan could be my little brother because he’s cute, he’s funny, he’s witty,” she told People.

The singer adds that Snoop Dogg brings a special energy to the group. “What I love about the three that I’m with, we say our prayer before we go in. Snoop instigated that,” she added.

Now, she’s starring on season 28 of “The Voice” and gearing up for season 2 of her sitcom Happy’s Place, which premieres November 7 on NBC.

“Happy’s Place” premieres November 7 on NBC and streams the next day on Peacock. “The Voice” airs on NBC Mondays and Tuesdays at 8 p.m. ET.
