Chaz Bono is officially married!
The 57-year-old tied the knot with longtime partner Shara Blue Mathes during a glamorous ceremony at the historic The Hollywood Roosevelt Hotel on Sunday, March 8, according to their wedding site.
The celebration embraced a “Hollywood Glam Formal” theme and was attended by close friends and family — including Chaz’s mother, music icon Cher.
For Bono, the moment carried a particularly meaningful full-circle element.
The Couple Met While Teenagers
The couple’s love story actually began more than four decades ago when they first met as teenagers at the Lee Strasberg Theatre & Film Institute.
“I first met Shara more than 40 years ago when we were just teenagers,” Bono shared with PEOPLE. “I think it’s safe to say that not many grooms ultimately end up marrying the very first girl they ever kissed so many years later.”
Although life took them on separate paths for many years, the pair eventually reconnected and made their relationship official in January 2017.
Bono said the long journey ultimately led him to the person he feels completes him.
“She makes me feel complete knowing she will always be there beside me as partner, my best friend, and the love of my life,” he said. “No matter what life brings us, we will always be safer and stronger together … and we are home.”
The wedding itself reflected the glamorous Hollywood aesthetic the couple envisioned.
Bono wore a classic tuxedo, while Mathes chose a romantic long-sleeved lace gown.
She styled her dark hair in soft curls and carried a stunning bouquet featuring purple orchids.
During the ceremony, Cher watched proudly from the front row as the newlyweds sealed the moment with a romantic dip at the end of the aisle, according to PEOPLE.
The dramatic aisle was lined with glowing red candles and moody floral arrangements, creating an intimate yet cinematic atmosphere.

Cher even sparked brief wedding speculation of her own during the celebration after arriving wearing a large ring alongside partner Alexander Edwards.
However, sources later confirmed to Page Six that the pair are not married or engaged.
