‘Below Deck’ Star Ties the Knot in Gorgeous Ceremony: PIC

Aesha Scott is officially married!

The “Below Deck Mediterranean” star tied the knot with longtime partner Scott Dobson on Saturday, March 7, during a celebration held in their hometown of Tauranga, New Zealand.

The couple chose a scenic local venue for the big day, surrounded by friends and family who traveled from around the world to attend, according to PEOPLE.

While the pair initially considered a beach destination wedding elsewhere in New Zealand, Scott explained that the idea of celebrating closer to home ultimately felt more meaningful.

Why the Couple Picked New Zealand to Wed

Hosting the ceremony in Tauranga made it easier for local loved ones to attend and also gave international guests a chance to experience the place that shaped the couple’s lives.

For Scott, bringing together people from different parts of her life was one of the most special aspects of the wedding.

Many of her close friends live overseas and had never met her family or visited New Zealand before, making the gathering particularly memorable.

Despite spending years working as a chief stew on luxury yachts, she didn’t want to have to worry about planning everything for her big day.

“As nice as a DIY wedding sounds, I didn’t want to be bothered about any of the details,” she explained. “Because of this, I always wanted a venue and vendors that take care of everything — no coming in to help set up, no coming by the next day to pick everything up, just show up, have the best day ever, then get out.”

Although she admitted the convenience added to the cost, Scott said the stress-free experience was worth it.

Wedding festivities actually began the day before the ceremony with a welcome party at a local fishing club overlooking Mount Maunganui.

The relaxed gathering allowed guests from different friend groups and backgrounds to meet before the wedding itself.

“You’re bringing together people from all walks of your life — you know them all, but they don’t all know each other,” she said. “When you do this, the ice has already been broken for the wedding, and there’s a much more jubilant feel on the big day.”

Scott’s One Rule for The Wedding

Scott made one thing very clear: no phones!

“I’ve been at weddings where the bride is walking down the aisle and it’s like a Dua Lipa concert, with every phone out filming her,” Scott explained. “That’s what a videographer is paid for — just be present and enjoy the moment.”

Following the celebrations, the newlyweds planned a short getaway to Queensland, Australia — a destination Scott has previously described as her favorite place in the world.

She has been sharing sweet moments to social media.

Rather than leaving for a long honeymoon right away, the couple wanted to stay close so they could continue spending time with friends and family who had traveled far to attend the wedding.

Scott and Dobson’s relationship dates back years.

The pair first met in high school but didn’t begin dating until nearly a decade later, when Dobson reached out through Instagram.

After months of messaging, Scott decided to take a leap and flew from New Zealand to the United States to see him in person — a trip that ultimately led to their lasting relationship.

In the weeks leading up to the ceremony, Scott also shared glimpses of the celebrations with fans online, including highlights from a lively bachelorette weekend that featured everything from helicopter rides to relaxing yoga moments before the big day.
