Maren Morris Cancels Shows Because of ‘Terrifying’ Winter Storms

The weather conditions in Nashville have been severe, causing destruction and disruption. Country singer Maren Morris is among those affected by Winter Storm Fern, and she has had to cancel shows because of it, leaving her devastated and her fans disappointed. But it’s not all bad news because she will be back soon!

Maren Morris Impacted by Winter Storm

Morris was scheduled to travel to Australia and New Zealand to perform as part of her Dreamsicle Tour 2026, with shows scheduled for the weekend. On Friday, January 30, she was scheduled to perform at Riverside Theatre in Perth and on Sunday, February 1, at the Fortitude Music Hall in Brisbane. She has unfortunately had to cancel both shows because she was unable to travel from her home in Nashville.

An announcement on TEG Live revealed the cancellations and that the shows would resume as usual on February 5, with a performance in Melbourne. Morris also shared a statement. “Hi everyone, the last few days have been terrifying in my home of Nashville, Tennessee,” she said. “We’ve been without power land safe passage to other neighborhoods for days now and it’s looking like we’ll be in this for another few. With the ice freezing over every night, until enough has melted on the roads and our house power is restored, we’re stuck. I’m devastated to have to cancel these first two Australia shows. We are at the mercy of mother nature and trying to stay safe.”

She continued, “This tour is my love letter to the fans who’ve stuck by me — and to the person I’ve become because of them.”

Winter Weather Conditions in Nashville

Morris is not the only musician to offer an update after the severe weather in Tennessee; country musician Tim McGraw updated fans with an Instagram post on January 26. He posted a black-and-white photo of fallen trees and, in the caption, informed fans that he and his family were “safe.”

“Woke up to the damage across Nashville this morning, and my heart sank. So grateful our family is safe, but I know a lot of folks are hurting—homes damaged, power out, trees down,” McGraw wrote. “If you need help, ask. If you can help, go. That’s how Nashville works. We take care of our own.”

The storms resulted in widespread power outages and claimed the lives of eight people, The Tennessee Emergency Management Agency reported on Tuesday, January 27, The Tennessee reports.

  1. Never heard of her. Don’t care one way or the other. But what a diva cancelling because of ” terrifying” snow storms? Where does she live Hawaii? Nothing terrifying about it little unknown country singer. We dig out and move on. What a lame excuse! No different than “for my mental health” excuse I suppose. Bunch of overpaid p__sies!
