8 Netflix Shows That Won’t Be Returning

Netflix is home to several of the most popular shows. This includes practically every genre mainstream audiences tend to appreciate- comedy, horror, drama, and reality. However, the streamer, like other networks, is also prone to canceling shows for various reasons. Here are eight Netflix shows that have been canceled.

Netflix Canceled ‘Alice In Borderland’

“Alice in Borderland” returned for its third season in 2025. Sadly for fans of the show, it ended in an ambiguous way, leading many to assume Netflix had renewed the show for a fourth season. Sadly, according to IMDb, the streaming giant quietly ended the series in the back half of 2025.

Regarding reception, “Alice in Borderland” has a 78% rating from critics on Rotten Tomatoes.

Western Series ‘The Abandons’

Netflix premiered “The Abandons” in December 2025, starring Lena Headey, Gillian Anderson, and Ryan Hurst. The show, which is a big-budget western series, was created by Kurt Sutter, who left the series ahead of the end of production.

Sadly for fans, Deadline reported in January 2026 that the series had been canceled after a single season. “The Abandons” currently has a 32% rating from critics on Rotten Tomatoes.

Netflix Also Ended ‘Terminator Zero’

Sometimes shows premiere on Netflix, and years go by without confirmation of their fate. Unfortunately, this is what befell the animated series “Terminator Zero” after its August 2024 premiere. The show’s creator, Mattson Tomlin, confirmed the news on X in February 2026.

Overall, “Terminator Zero” was well received by its audience, earning an impressive 87% on Rotten Tomatoes. However, it didn’t gain a large enough audience to sustain its budget.

‘Class’ Isn’t Returning

Netflix debuted the Indian crime drama “Class” in February 2023. Notably, the series serves as a Hindi adaptation of the Spanish series “Elite.” However, despite previously renewing the series, the streaming giant decided against moving forward with it for another season.

Despite not being as popular as Netflix had hoped, “Class” received stellar ratings, with its 86% on Rotten Tomatoes.

The Tyler Perry-produced “Miss Governor,” starring Terri J. Vaughn, premiered on Netflix in May 2025. The series quickly rose to the top of the streaming service’s most popular shows. However, this achievement wasn’t enough to secure a second season, as Vaughn announced in March 2026 that Netflix had canceled it.

Reviews on the show weren’t the highest, with its 50% rating on Rotten Tomatoes. Still, it had positive social media reactions.

Dating Show ‘Pop the Balloon’ Has Ended

Reality dating shows are all the rage, and Netflix has several. One such option is “Pop the Balloon Live.” The show premiered in April 2026 and was based on a popular YouTube series. The show, hosted by Yvonne Orji, featured a panel of singles who showed their lack of interest in potential romantic partners by popping a balloon.

Deadline confirmed in February 2026 that there would not be a second season. “Pop the Balloon Live” currently sits at a 3% rating on Rotten Tomatoes.

Netflix Also Ended ‘Billionaires’ Bunker’

The Spanish psychological thriller “Billionaires’ Bunker” premiered on Netflix in September 2025. The eight-episode series concluded with an open-ended finale, leading most to assume it would return. However, Netflix confirmed to El País in December 2025 that it would not be returning.

“Billionaires’ Bunker” has a 33% rating on Rotten Tomatoes.

No New Season of ‘The Vince Staples Show’

Netflix launched “The Vince Staples Show” in February 2024. The show, loosely based on its creator’s life, is a dark comedy with 11 episodes across two seasons. Sadly, the show was canceled in January 2026 despite positive reactions.

Regarding its reception, “The Vince Staples Show” has a 94% rating from critics on Rotten Tomatoes.
