3 Shows to Watch on Netflix in January

There’s quite a bit to be excited about as we head into 2026. Regarding entertainment, Netflix has several shows premiering, with some of the most notable arriving in January. Here are three to look forward to: one brand new, one returning, and an underrated classic.

Those Looking For a New Show Should Consider ‘His & Hers’

One of Netflix’s first big premieres for 2026 will be the series “His & Hers.” Based on Alice Feeney’s novel, the upcoming show is a psychological crime thriller set in Georgia. It involves a reculsive former news anchor, Anna, and a detective, Jack, who work together to solve a murder in her hometown.

Per Netflix, “His & Hers” stars Tessa Thompson, Jon Bernthal, Pablo Schreiber, Sunita Mani, and Rebecca Rittenhouse. The six-episode limited series premieres on January 8.

Thompson, who is also an executive producer, said of the show, “I am beyond elated to be collaborating with a filmmaker I have long admired and an incredible team to make a fresh offering in a genre that I can never get enough of.

From the second I heard what Will was imagining doing with Alice Feeney’s brilliant book to the moment I visited the town where our story is set, I was hooked.”

Fans Have Been Waiting for ‘Bridgerton’ Season 4

Season three of the hit Shonda Rhimes Netflix series “Bridgerton” premiered in May 2024. Because of this, fans have been waiting for the next installment of the show. As with many shows, the season will be released in parts, with the first four episodes premiering on January 29.

Following the first batch, four more episodes will arrive on the platform a month later, on February 26. The “Bridgerton” cast includes Luke Thompson, Yerin Ha, Jonathan Bailey, Simone Ashley, Nicola Coughlan, Luke Newton, and Golda Rosheuvel, among others.

Fans will be happy to know that, according to Variety, Netflix renewed the series for seasons five and six in May 2025.

‘The Following’ Is Returning to Netflix

One of the great things about having a Netflix subscription is that the platform often gets older television shows. This is the case with the Fox series “The Following,” which originally premiered in 2013 and ran for three seasons.

The series features Kevin Bacon in a lead role, playing a retired FBI agent who returns to the force to catch an escaped serial killer. The cast also includes James Purefoy, Natalie Zea, Valorie Curry, and Shawn Ashmore.

The series begins streaming on Netflix on January 3. This comes after it’s been absent for quite some time.
