7 NBC Shows Not Returning in 2026

When it comes to network television, NBC has maintained a standard for both quality and popular shows. However, as with all networks, some shows get canceled before many fans are ready to see them conclude. So far in 2026, NBC has canceled several shows, including a “Law & Order” spin-off starring Christopher Meloni.

In addition to its scripted and reality-based content, NBC produces several talk shows that are syndicated to local stations across the country. One of them was “Karamo,” which was hosted by Karamo Brown. The conflict-driven talker debuted in September 2022.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, NBCUniversal pulled the plug on “Karamo” on March 13 of this year. The show has a total of 471 episodes over the course of four seasons.

On the same day NBC canceled “Karamo,” the long-running “Steve Wilkos” show met the same fate. The show, hosted by Steve Wilkos, premiered in 2007 following his stint on “The Jerry Springer Show” as one of the bouncers.

Over 19 seasons, Wilkos produced more than 2,000 episodes of the conflict-driven talker. Also ending are “Access Hollywood” and “Daily Access.” However, both shows will continue airing new episodes through the summer.

Frances Berwick, chairman of Bravo & Peacock unscripted for NBCUniversal, released a statement on the cancellations. She said, “NBCUniversal is making changes to our first-run syndication division to better align with the programming preferences of local stations.

The company will remain active in the distribution of our existing program library and other off-network titles, while winding down production of our first-run shows. These shows have provided audiences with great talk and entertainment content for many years, and we’re very proud of the teams behind them.”

‘The Kelly Clarkson Show’ Is Also Ending

Singer Kelly Clarkson premiered her daytime talk show, “The Kelly Clarkson Show,” in September 2019. The daily series quickly became a hit, both due to her down-to-earth interviews and her Kellyoke segment in which she’d sing renditions of popular songs.

However, according to NBC, Clarkson announced she would end the show in early February 2026. She made the decision in part to spend more time with her family following the death of her ex and the father of her children, Brandon Blackstock.

She said in a statement, “This was not an easy decision, but this season will be my last hosting ‘The Kelly Clarkson Show.’ Stepping away from the daily schedule will allow me to prioritize my kids, which feels necessary and right for this next chapter of our lives. This isn’t goodbye. I’ll still be making music, playing shows here and there, and you may catch me on “The Voice” from time to time… you never know where I might show up next.”

3 Scripted Shows Were Canceled

Regarding scripted shows, one of the most surprising was “Brilliant Minds,” which got the ax in early May. The show premiered on NBC in September 2024 and aired for two seasons before its cancellation. “Brilliant Minds” starred Zachary Quinto, Tamberla Perry, and Ashleigh LaThrop.

Another cancellation came when NBC canceled “Law & Order: Organized Crime,” which starred Meloni, Danielle Moné Truitt, and Ainsley Seiger. The show premiered in 2021 and aired its final episode in June 2025, wrapping its 5th season. It’s also worth noting that the series had moved to Peacock, NBCUniversal’s streaming service, ahead of its 5th season.

“Stumble,” a comedy series, was also canceled by NBC in 2026. The series premiered in November 2025 and wrapped in March 2026. NBC gave it the proverbial ax in May 2026.
