In a statement published by TMZ, the family noted, “It is with heavy hearts that our family shares the sudden passing of our beloved Chuck Norris yesterday morning. While we would like to keep the circumstances private, please know that he was surrounded by his family and at peace.”

Born in Oklahoma in 1940, Norris began his journey in the U.S. Air Force, serving from 1958 to 1962. It was during those early years that his connection to martial arts took root, eventually shaping both his life and his career.

His dedication led him to earn black belts in multiple disciplines, laying the foundation for the presence he would later bring to the screen.

He went on to gain widespread recognition through films like “The Delta Force” and “Missing in Action,” emerging as one of the most recognizable faces of 1980s action cinema.

What set Norris apart was not just his physicality but the calm, steady intensity he brought to every role. It was a quiet kind of strength that stayed with audiences long after the credits rolled.

A Career That Defined Action Television

Norris reached an even broader audience with his role as Cordell Walker in “Walker, Texas Ranger,” a series that became a fixture on television throughout the 1990s and solidified his place in popular culture.

His impact was recognized beyond the screen. He received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in 1989 and was later named an honorary Texas Ranger in 2010.

In the years that followed, Norris gradually stepped away from regular acting. However, he continued to appear occasionally, including a role in “The Expendables 2” in 2012, reminding audiences of the presence that made him a lasting figure in the genre.

Final Years, Personal Loss, and Last Public Moments

In his later years, Norris faced personal loss, including the death of his mother in 2024 and his first wife, Dianne Holechek, in December, as reported by People.

Even after stepping back from the spotlight, he stayed connected with fans through social media.

Just days before his death, Norris celebrated his 86th birthday with a message that captured his indomitable spirit.

“I don’t age … I level up.”

He is survived by his family, including his five children. As tributes continue to pour in, Norris is being remembered not only for the roles that defined his career but for the strength, discipline, and presence that shaped his life beyond the screen.

  2. GOOD GUYS WEAR BLACK.
For whatever Norris was, when that first film broke out, it was pretty cool, and although rightwing and a little nuts in his senior days, he stayed in character. It all worked.
