Josh Brolin: ‘You Were One of the Great Humans’
Brolin shared a heartfelt tribute to Redford in an Instagram post on September 16.
“I auditioned for him once,” Brolin began his post. “I didn’t get it, but had a great time with him. He was present and told me a lot of great stories. He never, from what I could tell, drank the Kool-Aid. He beat to his own drum.”
“He was moved by a grit and a light that was fueled and billowed from inside himself.”
“As a misfit, he found a way and utilized it himself fully. Hear! Hear! Too many people drinking the Kool-Aid nowadays,” Brolin continued. “His is a life to be celebrated. A career comes and goes. But for those you move… there’s that diamond that never decomposes.”
“Rest in peace, Redford. You were one of the great humans.”
