HBO is set to bring viewers back to Westeros with the release of “A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms.” The latest entry in the ever-expanding “Game of Thrones” franchise might not have the scale of the original series or spin-off “House of the Dragon” but it will take fans back to a familiar setting in the form of the fictional fantasy world that author George R. R. Martin created for his “A Song of Ice and Fire” novels.
Where to Watch “A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms”
Like the other entries in the “Game of Thrones” franchise, “A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms” has an exclusive home with premium network HBO and its streaming service HBO Max.
The first season is set to premiere on HBO and HBO Max simultaneously and will consist of six episodes in total.
In other territories where HBO Max is available, “A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms” will be available to stream directly through that service. In the United Kingdom, the show will be broadcast on Sky Atlantic and will also stream on Sky’s NOW service.

What to Expect from the Show
Acting as a prequel, “A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms” takes place roughly 100 years before the events of “Game of Thrones” and after “House of the Dragon.” This means the action is set against the backdrop of the Targaryen dynasty coming to an end after the death of the dragons they used to unite Westeros under their rule.
The story of the miniseries is based on Martin’s “Tales of Dunk and Egg” novellas. Former rugby player Peter Claffey portrays the hedge knight Ser Duncan the Tall, while Dexter Sol Ansell plays his squire Aegon Targaryen.
Taking a more lighthearted approach with comedic moments, “A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms” follows the two unlikely adventurers after Ser Duncan becomes a knight upon the death of his former master.
