‘Today’ Staff in Tears After Emotional Visit From Savannah Guthrie’s Husband: REPORT

Savannah Guthrie is navigating a painful family crisis. As the search for her 84-year-old mother, Nancy Guthrie, continues, her husband has remained a steady presence by her side. Feldman has been making trips between New York and Arizona, where Savannah is staying with family as the search for Nancy intensifies.

Savannah has not yet returned to “Today,” and sources say taking time off was an easy decision. Her attention remains fully on her family. In the meantime, former co-anchor Hoda Kotb has stepped in to anchor the broadcast. Amid the ongoing investigation, a Page Six report revealed a deeply emotional moment behind the scenes at “Today.”

According to a source who witnessed the visit, the atmosphere was heavy with emotion. “There were a lot of tears.”

The insider said Feldman came on Savannah’s behalf to express her gratitude in person. It was a private gesture during an extraordinarily public crisis, one that reflected just how much the support has meant to their family.

Almost a month since Nancy went missing, those closest to Savannah say the support from her NBC colleagues has meant more than they can fully express. “From the top of the company to the bottom – it’s gone beyond just a workplace,” a source close to Savannah told Page Six.

The care has extended far beyond messages of sympathy. Coworkers have stepped in with practical offers of help. “‘Can we send clothes, arrange for food? Can we take the kids? [Can we] create a distraction at a moment that helps them manage through this as a family?’ The love is real.”

According to the report, during his visit, Feldman made a point of thanking people individually.

“It was a large group, and he went around and thanked everyone, and got a bunch of hugs,” the source said. “This is an extension of their family, and never more so than now. They’re more than coworkers. The tears were real, and [the colleagues] are struggling too.”

With the family largely focused on one another and on communication with law enforcement, the in-person moment carried extra significance. The source added, “It was great for him to look everyone in the eye and vice versa.”

Savannah Guthrie Remains Focused on Family

A source added that Savannah has been deeply touched by the outpouring of support, even if she has not been able to respond personally. “She’s not in a position to respond to anyone right now because it’s too overwhelming, but she’s seeing the messages and hears the prayers.”

Savannah last addressed the public in a February 15 video message. Fighting back emotion, she pleaded directly with those responsible for her mother’s disappearance. “Do the right thing… ” It’s never too late,” she said.

Faith, according to those close to her, has become an anchor. “The family’s never prayed as much,” a source shared. “She’s the chief faith officer in the family, and [the faith is] strong as ever.”

At NBC, the cameras still roll each morning. But behind the scenes, colleagues understand the weight of what Savannah is carrying. For them, this moment is not about television. It is about standing by family.
