Today, Savannah Guthrie is in front of a camera for a reason no daughter ever wants to be. Not from the bright lights of the “Today” studio, but from her home, speaking through heartbreak as she pleads for her mother’s safe return.
Two weeks after her mother, Nancy Guthrie, was abducted from her Tucson home, Savannah Guthrie returned to social media with a heartfelt message.
In a video posted February 15, the “Today” co-anchor spoke directly to the person who may have information about her mother’s whereabouts. Her voice was steady but emotional as she addressed viewers and the individual she believes may be holding Nancy.

Timeline of Nancy Guthrie’s Disappearance From Tucson Home
Nancy Guthrie, the mother of “Today” co-anchor Savannah Guthrie, was last seen the evening of January 31 after being dropped off at her Tucson home following time with family.
She was reported missing around noon on February 1 after failing to log on to a scheduled virtual church service with a friend.
After more than two weeks into the investigation, authorities continue pursuing new leads as her family waits anxiously for answers and for her safe return.
According to a new report in Arizona Family, a source familiar with the case says investigators are increasingly examining whether Nancy’s disappearance may have begun as a burglary that escalated.
Nearly 16 gloves were recovered about two miles from her home, most discarded by search teams. However, one glove “appears to match” the pair worn by a masked man seen in surveillance footage outside her residence, the FBI said.
The glove has been sent to a private laboratory in Florida for DNA testing.
Federal officials describe the suspect as approximately 5 feet 9 inches to 5 feet 10 inches tall with an average build. In the footage, he is seen wearing a black ski mask, dark clothing, and black gloves, and carrying a black 25-liter Ozark Trail Hiker Pack backpack.
Several individuals have been questioned and later released. No arrests have been made as forensic testing continues.
This is a developing story.
