White Forensics Tent Set Up Outside Nancy Guthrie’s Home 12 Days After Her Disappearance

Twelve days into the search for Savannah Guthrie’s mother, the scene outside Nancy Guthrie’s Tucson home has taken on a heavier tone. Nancy was last seen the night of January 31 after being dropped off at her home following time with family.

Nancy was reported missing around noon on February 1 when she did not appear for a scheduled virtual church service with a friend. Here is what the authorities have been upto on the 12th day as the Guthrie family hopefully wait for the safe return of their beloved matriarch.

According to Fox News, a white forensic tent now stands at the front entrance of the Catalina Foothills property, shielding the doorway from view.

The large structure covers the porch area where authorities say the 84-year-old was taken in the early hours of February 1.

For neighbors and loved ones, the sight is a painful reminder that the investigation is far from over. Behind the canvas walls, detectives continue their work. Outside, a family and a community continue to wait and hope for answers.

Officials have not confirmed why the tent was erected or what investigators may be examining beneath it. As per Tents4Work, Forensic tents are often used to shield sensitive evidence from public view while detectives conduct detailed examinations.

As per the New York Post, authorities previously confirmed that DNA testing showed blood found on the porch belonged to Guthrie.

Thousands of Tips Flood Investigators

The Pima County Sheriff’s Department and the FBI have received an overwhelming response from the public. CBS reported that after security photos and video were released, more than 4,000 calls came in within 24 hours.

Since February 1, authorities say they have received approximately 18,000 tips.

Doorbell camera footage shared by investigators shows a man wearing a ski mask, gloves, and a backpack approaching Guthrie’s front door. The video appears to show him noticing the camera before tampering with it.

Fox News reported earlier in the day that detectives are now asking neighbors in the Catalina Foothills area to provide security footage for specific dates and times.

Investigators have warned that some systems automatically overwrite recordings, making retrieval time sensitive.

A pair of black gloves has also been recovered in the search, according to NBC affiliate KVOA in Tucson. The gloves are reportedly being tested for DNA.

Please note: Authorities have not provided further comment on the forensic tent or recent developments.

This is a developing story.
